Five yard passes on third and ten. Is that a left over play from last years offense?
sometimes it is jjst to get closer to field goal range...
I’ll defer to you guys. It’s still preseason. Don’t want to see too much of that when the live bullets start flying.
so, you’d rather force a low percentage pass and punt than collect points?
C'mon, let's not be obtuse. You all know what I mean. During the course of so many plays last year we would throw short on third and long. This situation is probably different but I'm just tired of seeing that kind of play. You're right, in this case it was the right call. Let's see what happens moving forward.
and not what we should expect to see every game. They are absolutely ruining the game. There is no way to make a violent sport safe. What they are doing is turning this into something OTHER than football.

yes i agree we saw alot of that last year, but in THIS situation, the short pass was to move into range at a chance for points. they are different scenarios
is it possible the ref was flagging Herzlich's helmet-to-helmet contact at the beginning of his rush? Both he and the blocker were at fault, but they definitely smacked helmets hard.
Lions announcers went back a reviewed it and said it was not a penalty. Nobody lowered their head and in fact they called have called the RB for helmet to helmet.
Webb had three outstanding throws. 3rd and 17 to Shepard. Crossing route to engram. And deep by to Shepard. Still threw a little behind and high in some throws.
On the broadcast I’m watching, Spielman noted they went fasemask to facemask with neither player dipping his head. Said should have been a no call. He said the league’s study saw 0 concussions from that kind of contact. I think it’s a preseason “message” call.

OL pass blocking was the winner in first half.
Behind on a few yes. High? That is nitpicking. Huge difference from last week. Some very good catches too. Much more comfortable.
Not perfect but looked like a viable backup.
Relentless pressure. Wynn has been a man possessed.
Stout against the run.
Solid tackling.
Webb in command. A few throws that were high or otherwise slightly off target, but he looked very good. A tremendous throw on third and 17 that was part of an excellent TD drive. He also scrambled well to keep plays alive. I agree he reminds me of Kerry Collins.
Gallman ran well.
Nice kick by Rosas, and an even better hold by Dixon.

The two slants were a bit high. One was on 3rd down where Raymond clearly beat his guy and the one to Latimer that came out like a knuckleball.
But much, much better this week. Offense had some rhythm.

Dave Te Thomas said Ram players told him Ogletree's play suffered once he started wearing the helmet to set up the defense, he felt Goods
on should be the guy for us to wear it.
The problem is Collins's arm talent made up for some of his deficiencies. Webb just has the deficiencies.
The throw to Shepard on third down was really good, but the problems are all still there. Hitch in the release, bad footwork, fading back while he throws instead of stepping into it. Not good.

Ok, yeah. I thought the ones a bit behind were worse. But even so, good job. Good zip, ball comes out quickly.
Moves nicely too.
Ogletree hasn’t been good in a few years. It got masked by his high tackle totals. Kirk Morrison 2.0.
lmao. youre out of your mind....average 100 total tackles per season isnt bad. and been bad the last few years? he has been in league only 5 years...so when are you talking he has been bad?
in 2016 he had 136 total tackles....
i mean i normally agree with some shit you have said but sell that bullshit somewhere else. he is a very solid LBer.
Dave Te Thomas said Ram players told him Ogletree's play suffered once he started wearing the helmet to set up the defense, he felt Goods

He was throwing balls 2 yards away from receivers in the 1st game. Obv hope we don't need to see him this year, but glad we have some hope for the future after Eli. And glad the O has looked decent without Eli/OBJ/Saquon, our 3 biggest weapons. Keep em healthy in preseason.
D has looked very good overall, and getting some nice pressure. We've looked good against the run in both games so far, though we have let up a few big plays. I guess Ogletree isn't as good as I thought in coverage, though I guess he's doing some good against the run (without re-watching hard to be sure). Nice to see a few plays from some of our depth guys as well. We needed a bit of a boost after a disappointing last week.

i think they are calling anything in preseason to get point across
season will have more descretion hopefully

Agreed. Just saying that’s his big advantage to be a better prospect

Very similar delivery. Hopefully more mobile thought because Collins was a statue
Webb looks pretty mobile too me
Can you imagine that very play on 3rd down happened in a huge game on the road in Philly?
We would be sick.

But what the heck is going on with Ogletree?
Lions announcers went back a reviewed it and said it was not a penalty. Nobody lowered their head and in fact they called have called the RB for helmet to helmet.
But what the heck is going on with Ogletree?
Not watching game. Does he look lost or slow? Getting tossed around?
2. WRs made plays
Webb had three outstanding throws. 3rd and 17 to Shepard. Crossing route to engram. And deep by to Shepard. Still threw a little behind and high in some throws.
OL pass blocking was the winner in first half.
Cut Darnold, he sucks. Webb first the HOF.

he is just bad in coverage. teams will look to take advantage of that....
may not be a three down backer anymore? on third down passing d, he may have to come out for guy who is better in coverage.
i mean it isnt easy to cover reddick in the open field, but he has looked bad in coverage two weeks in a row

Got torched by Theo Riddick out of the slot for a 40-some yard gain. Detroit's only real offense in the first half.

Some problems:
Stewart looks slow.
Sharp with two fumbles.
Too much pressure allowed off the edge.

From what I have seen so far, he does not have the instincts to cover a TE/RB. His footwork, angles.. everything.

OBJ and Saquon aren’t even on the field an we lead a 60+ yard drive.

Weren’t you in here last week telling people not to over react to one preseason game.
He looked better, still a ways to go
