Posted 1 hour ago He does look like he has it. By it I mean that ability that can't be measured that makes QB's great. Posted 58 minutes ago Beyond the throws, he just looks like a vet out there... Changing the plays at the line, feeling pressure, moving in the pocket. Impressive Posted 55 minutes ago I have such a chub rite now with allen Posted 55 minutes ago I have not seen such greatness in a long time. So keep him upright. Posted 47 minutes ago Thank god Wyoming was terrible or Allen goes #1 Posted 41 minutes ago I agree. He handled himself professionally. Made plays and was rolling down the field. Unless Nate Peterman is lights out I can not imagine them naming someone else as the starter Posted 37 minutes ago He's looking better than Baker. Baker is 2/4 for 0 yards lol. Posted 36 minutes ago Allen is just a force on the field. Posted 32 minutes ago He’s the guy. It’s impossible not to see |
~Half of BBI~
I would go by the eye test more than stats.
Baker didn't have amazing stats last week either but he looked fantastic.

Him yet but he was 9-13 for 60 yards they might be going overboard a bit

I understand that but that must’ve been the greatest 60 yards by the way they’re reacting
Lots of armchair analysts and crybaby Jalen Ramsey do nothing but crap on the guy when he hasn't been given a real chance.
Haha I saw that and thought it must have been a rough one too
I also saw ESPN's Mets v Phils preview for today's game with Asdrubal Cabrera still as the Mets HR / Avg / RBI leader. And therefore for tomorrow's game...
I’m watching the Cardinals and I’m sure everyone will go nuts over Rosen after this game too.
In that case, should we not be happy about Webb's performance tonight?
Josh Allen was also my #1 QB in this year's draft. He is going to be very, very good. He has a chance to be elite. He has the arm, the mobility, the football savvy, and he loves playing quarterback.
Allen's style resembles a mix of Favre and Roethlisberger with respect to the way that he absorbs punishment in the pocket but extends plays and gives his receivers opportunities on seemingly dead routes. Josh will surprise a lot of defensive lineman this year with his evasive ability.
I do think that his accuracy numbers will never reach the Brady stratosphere because his game is predicated on taking deep shots and higher risk throws that will more often than not result in incompletions. In a way, its similar to our own Elisha Nelson 10. As it pertains to winning football games, I think The Prodigy will be successful but I doubt that the quants will be satisfied anytime soon.

Hasn't been given a real chance? What does that even mean? He's just not a good QB. That could change in the NFL, but it's highly unlikely. He played in a terrible conference and was an average QB at best. Anytime he played a good team he got embarrassed.
He has never had a season where he completed more then 60% of his passes. That goes all the way back to when he playing JV in High School.
Everybody is hyping him up because of his preseason like he isn't playing 2nd & 3rd stringers. Let's wait to see what he does against starters. Bills fans better hope they have another QB available for the regular season. They have the Ravens, Chargers, Vikings, Packers, Titans & Texans in the first 6 weeks. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see him throw 10+ INTs in those first 6 weeks.
Just like I'm encouraged by a good showing for Webb tonight. But nor ready to dump Eli and hand over the O. Or declare Mayfield a bust because he had a tough 2nd PS game.
Of course, no one likes the 'moderation' attitude in preseason...we all want to hope our guys will turn out to be HOF'ers....and the guys we didn't like/passed will end up failing in comparison. Looks like Allen should have every chance in BUF, though I don't know about his supporting cast there. looks like we'll get to learn quite a bit about several of the 1st round QB's this year - should see Mayfield/Darnold/Allen play some significant time I'd guess, and Rosen had decent stats today (didn't watch him tho). I'm just hoping Barkley ends up deserving the hype so far, which is a lot to live up to - but he seems like just what our O needs to add balance, along with an improved OL.
Truthfully he should sit a season but based on McCarron's injury, that won't happen. I hope he kicks ass. AFC East could use it.
He had fewer drops (by rate and in the aggregate) than all the other top QB prospects, but who's counting?
One game is definitely a sufficient sample size, right?
Prior to to the draft they were nit picked by the Paulie Dottino s of BBI, some because of their conviction on Barkley, many because of their love for Eli. They wanted no part of a quarterback.
They got their wish and now they lash out at any suggestion that these quarterbacks might be pretty good.
I think many of them believed none of these guys would be special, and the possibility they were wrong become an,.......Oh oh!
Allen vs. the Browns - ( New Window )
I think all the "experts" are going to be wrong about him.
Phil Simms loved him.
The Bills got themselves a steel!!

There is no point dwelling on it at this point. The Giants felt Eli still had some football left & took who they felt was the best player on the board. Hopefully Webb or Lauletta become something, personally I’m intrigued with Lauletta.

That’s a pretty dramatic POV. In reality most of us who like the Barkley pick would have been fine if a QB was taken, we’ve all said as much. I basically would have been fine with anyone but Nelson at 2.
Happy with Barkley and the QBs on our roster currently.
FFers might want to take note.
Agree. Allen looked fantastic last night.
Not so sure I m over stating the case
Not so sure I m over stating the case
Those responses are mostly due to how outrageous the opposition has been. It’s as if the Giants will never have a future in the NFL because of the 2018 draft.
I think the anti quarterbacks crowd either was loyal to Eli or in win now mode. As they must understand quarterback is a more impactful position going forward on so many levels, not the least of which is longevity of career, they justified their desire for Barkley by buying into the nonsense none of these quarterbacks warranythe #2 pick.
I think the possibility they might be wrong about that is unsettling. Really believing they will not be franchise guys is about the only justification for passing on them. (With the exception that Webb might turn out to be as good. )
Even then having two good young quarterbacks is a pretty good argument for taking one anyway.
People made up their minds before the draft which way they wanted the team to go, and seeing QB's perform or not (especially in preseason) is not going to sway anybody's opinion this early or make them "unsettled".
Furthermore, taking Lauletta and seeing him perform really well from the get go, along with the belief that Eli Manning still has a few years left, makes people feel just fine and dandy about where the team sits now.
I keep seeing you say things like people that didn't want a QB are now worried. There have literally been no posts by anybody that didn't want a QB saying that. Wishful thinking on your part.
They don't.
I don't think there were more than a handful of people who were vehemently against taking a QB.
Once Barkley was picked and the reasoning behind it was told to fans, it made sense. Basically, the Giants felt Barkley was ranked that much higher than the QB's and that he was worth that pick.
Once people put their support behind Barkley, that isn't being anti-QB, and that's way too often misunderstood.
Heck, I was called anti-QB last week and yet in the lead-up to the draft, I had said the team should pick a QB if they felt one was a franchise QB. And out of the QB's, Darnold was my favorite.
But I don't follow college football too closely and really don't get so involved in the draft that it leads to bias after a pick is made. That's what you see a lot of times. People would rather be right that "their" guy panned out instead of what is best for the team.
