Another day of crossing our fingers that Sevy can figure it out. If he struggles again today they 1000% have to give him a couple weeks off to get a little rest and get right.
The short game last night helped save some of the pen, so that was good. Another pitcher we have no excuse not to put runs up on.
Let's get another W here.
That and hoping Sevy gets his groove back.
If those happen or at least show signs in that direction, I think we might all breathe a little easier.
So from what you have seen since he has been back and with his injury history IYO is Greg Bird still the answer at 1b or do the Yanks need to find a replacement next year?
Adams?
Hopefully it's a moot point. I just don't see how they can keep sending him out there if he keeps getting belted.
He looks okay ~10 pitches in - so, let's hope this is the one where he gets back on track.
And a great feeling that is..
:(
More of this please.
Stanton bomb.
7-0
Torres single
Gibbons finally takes out Reid-Foley.
- Machado
- Arenado
- Khris Davis
- Jose Abreu
- Freddie Freeman
8-2
8-5
8-5
Yeah, Walker absolutely blew that.
Agreed. Time to start looking past him.
Agreed but he has the rest of the year to turn it around. All will be forgiven if he does.
These next several weeks should tell us what he's made of. Either he works to get better or hangs his head. Hopefully that nice swing and HR is the start of turning it around.

He's shown flashes before. He has to keep it going, which is something he hasn't been able to do thus far.
Higgy is a AAAA catcher. No business in MLB except under duresss.

Could lock down the back up spot by keeping up the bat. If I recall he is a far better defensive catcher. His only issue was woefully bad offensive production.

So hes worse than Romine?

Yeah I agree with you there as well.
It's too late to make up the whole season numbers we were hoping for from him but I'm just hoping he gives us some consistency the rest of the way. Be the player we were hoping for from here til the season ends.
You want to face Verlander, winner take all in a one game series?
WTF, kick his ass.
As good as the A's have been over the past couple months, I just don't think the A's can keep up with the Astros once Altuve and Springer come back. I think it will be like when the Yanks get Judge and Sanchez- big boost to the team.
A's probably win the second wild card spot, but I think the Astros pull away in September.
They were 9 back on July 21st.
Helluva month!

Damn the A's are crazy hot. 5-0 in the 6th, they are about to ne in a flat footed tie with the Stro's. Maybe the Stros are coming to yhe Btonx for the WC game? That would be crazy

Springer is already back. I know he played last night but not sure if that was his first game back or if he was back the game before.
I don't know when they expect Altuve back though.
