Gettleman and Shurmur inhereted a shitty situation. He was overdrafted and will probably never be a "plus" player. Problem is there were a dozen or more other issues to fix in the roster, and they're not all going to get addressed in one season. I find it very unlikely that a better option will shake free in cut downs. We're stuck for another year.
After his initial issues with Solder being brought in, it seems like Flowers has grown a bit and is working hard. There have been pieces about him working wth Solder after practice, etc. And although it's a very small sample size there actually has been some improvement. It feels impossible after watching the struggles but who knows, maybe by mid season he's a serviceable OT. I don't know about anyone else but I'd take "average" and run with it, considering what we've seen, by and large, since 2011 with the OL.

I think we would all be thrilled with average play from Flowers.
Wheeler looks awful on the right side. I think he looks better on the left.
We definitely need OT help but it may be tough to get even though we sit at number two on the waiver order. Cleveland is ahead of us and has questions at OT as well.
Right now (things change drastically over the year) Â
Couple nights ago, I saw the Patriots put a TE next to their rookie RT(who later injured his achilles)......the TE engaged the DE and then went out for a pass, making it easier for the rookie RT....something Mcadon't never thought of....
Flowers. He gave up a sack, but otherwise looked competent Â
if we're lucky. The Giants really need to be aggressive with the waiver wire in two weeks. Any competent ILBs DBs and OTs need to be claimed.
Does the claiming order stay the same no matter how many claims the Giants make? If they claim 5 players at the same time are they #2 for all 5 players?
will be a problem all year at that position. We are in a bind, because he will be targeted because the rest of our offense looks very sound. The weak link is him, and he will be facing teams best pass rushers all year. Not good news for us or him.
Flowers. He is doing a great job and will get better. Â
No one on this roster is any better, our depth is attrocious. I do believe we’ll add a tackle after cuts, but I think that person replaces Wheeler, Becton and Gates.
With that being said, Bunche looks like he has a chance to step up, but he won’t crack the starting line up.
If flowers is the best the nyg can come up with: awful technique, at his postition has dire ramifications for a 37 year old qb.....flowers is, on many plays, head down, feet planted, arms flailing....no more imposing than a nyc subway turnstyle.
...because Halapio has been dreadful so far. In a handful of series my group of Ginats friends that watch the games have plotted at least six blown plays. A combination of misreads on who he should be blocking or flat out getting beat one on one. It's time for Jones to run with the 1's. The Halapio experiment is a failure.
an interception, but from thereafter, he did okay. He's a better run blocker than a pass blocker, but I think he'll get better at both as the season moves along. Barring injury, he's our guy at RT.
is better ... the issue is not talent but consistency ... but by moving to the right he is now facing an less athletic opponent on avg so that helps but only a small bit (its the NFL) ... but the more he gets used to the flip he'll make less mistakes ... he will always make mistakes he just is not "OCD" enough about his technique ...

A: No, I don’t think so. I thought Ereck did a good job last night.
We have no cap space to go out and get a guy to replace him.
Hopefully he will play well and go on to continue his career on another team next year.
