but it simply being poorly enforced via bad judgment of the refs.
Maybe it will just kind of be a preseason-thing similar to how the high volume of defensive-back penalties were a joke 2 years ago in preseason but then normalized as the regular season went on.
who actually revealed as much as Shurmur. He still hides what he wants to, but he's so much more forthcoming on stuff where there's no reason to hide it. The stuff on the the kickoffs for example.
REALLY refreshing to hear as opposed to hearing "we just need to execute better" which is coach-speak for saying the scheme is great and the players are screwing up.

I totally agree. He is so refreshing compared to our past coaches. It will interesting how is personality plays into the scrutinizing NY media.
I like what he says, that quote during his post game speech was so simple but so true. I think he will not be one of offensive minds that overthinks a situation or a game plan. I am sure you all have seen that happen (Gilbride).
I am excited for this year, I do not know if the our record will be the best but I believe I will see some good football being played by my favorite team this year.

Gilbride’s had a great offense but it required football players to think.

I don’t give a shit whether a HC is “forthcoming” or not, as I rarely, if ever, watch them aside from perusing their transcripts looking for any info on injuries. Or, put another way, Let them reveal nothing but win SBs like non-revealers, Parcells and TC..

I don't think any of us would rather have a forthcoming coach rather than SBs. I also don't think that the relationship between are mutually exclusive. I would like to hope that Shurmur knows what he has to keep close to the vest but he doesn't have to be standoffish with the media to do that. I think he will straight up say what he is not going to talk about, or he will say that information is going to stay in house and there is nothing wrong with that but he may the ability the give us fans something to help understand.
the Special Teams had breakdowns on several key plays versus Detroit. But they were fortunate to have the breaks go their way and we didn't get hurt.
- Fumbled own KO return (Gallman I think recovered)
- Muffed punt in 1st half negated return
- Bad snap on long FG (holder Dixon did a great job getting it down)
- Herzlich badly missed on long Detroit Punt return (called back for penalty)
- No one is impressing thus far on our own returns
On bright side, Kerry Wynn seems to be the special teams ace thus far on coverage units...
