I just want to say hello, I've been a Giant fan since 1977 and I am looking forward to reading, discussing and following the G-men along with this forum. I am upset about the Giants not getting their future QB but I know that has probably been the hottest topic. I just don't understand what Gettleman was thinking. We all have played fantasy football and I remember that RBs were always the first picks. It is no longer that way. RBs are not as valuable as they once were. Of course, this league having a love affair with throwing on 3rd and 1 or 2 has allot to do with it. If you were to tell me that the Giants were going to run the ball most of the time on first and second down that's one thing but the only team in the 2000s that ran the ball and won was the Steelers. It's a throwing league and the Giants are banking on winning a Super Bowl within two years because that's what I think Manning has left at best.
If you blindly stumbled into this fraternity without knowledge of its perversions, may God have mercy on your soul.
They think Eli has some years left, and with a running game, and a process of fixing the OL, they feel this offense can be fixed....
Only problem is, there is a lot to fix, offensively and defensively.....they have to be thinking it's going to be a two year process, hopefully.....hitting on the draft successfully a couple years in a row, getting the right free agents, and everyone getting on board with a new HC, OC, and DC.....
It's a gamble that has to show improvement this year, and being a viable contender next...
Our D should be very very good.
Could be a great year to be a Giants fan.
People talk about the lost Brown-Graham years, but forget the David Wilson-Rashad Jennings years!
There's 12-15 serviceable QBs in the league, but only a once in a generation 230 lb Marshall Faulk.
In 2011 Giants won the Super Bowl while finishing 32nd (dead last) in the NFL in rushing. Neither Bradshaw nor Jacobs could manage to avg. 4 ypc that year and they combined for just 3 more yards than last year's duo of Darkwa and Gallman...who both averaged more than 4 ypc.
Seattle had several good years rushing with Marshawn Lynch.
