Wondering if anyone partakes in "Eat Your Opponent" for football season. Name is a little weird, I know. Main premise is you make dishes to eat, that come from the team you are playing against. Premise was new to me until last year. I am sure most of you are familiar with this. Going to make a point of doing this for every game I can this year. Definitely wont be able to do every game, but here is what I am thinking. Any obvious omissions? Some help is definitely needed..
Week 1: Jax: Fish Tacos? Dont know what you eat in Jax?
Week 2: Dal: BBQ Brisket
Week 3: Hou: BBQ Babyback Ribs
Week 4: NO:: Shrimp Po'Boy
Week 5: Car: Carolina Pulled Pork Sandwich
Week 6: PHI: Cheese Steaks
Week 7: ATL: Not sure here, thoughts?
Week 8: WAS: Not sure here, thoughts?
Week 10: SF: Hearing Crab is their go-to?
Week 11: TB: Thinking some kind of fresh fish
Week 12: PHI: Philly style soft pretzel & Yuengling
Week 13: CHI: Deep Dish Pizza or Chicago Chili Dogs
Week 14: WAS: Again, no clue
Week 15: Tenn: Nashville Hot Chicken
Week 16: Indy: Pork Tenderloin Sandwich
Week 17: Dal: Can always do BBQ again
One of the Philly games I make roast pork and broccoli rabe sandwiches.
SF last time I made Cioppinom it is a fish/seafood stew, and it was incredible.
WAS is always tough, some times people take liberties and expand to "the hogs" and make pulled pork or some other BBQ pork dish. I used to do that and once game I just made hot dogs and hamurgers
CHI I made Italian beef.
just some thoughts, post a thread the week of each game and maybe I'll have more memories. Now I coach my youngest's hockey team, so these days are gone for me. for now.

Cioppino for SF not whatever I typed.
have to have chili at least once during the season.
Washington - Senate Bean Soup, as well as Crab Cakes.
I put a link to a version of the soup recipe below, it's a basic one that you can add to - if bean soup fits what you'd like to do. Imagine a room full of people watching football, drinking beer, and eating bean soup.....

you've got to eat your opponent to beat your opponent!
when the Giants play the Jets I made NY strip steak, one year I made Manhattan Clam Chowder. One of my favorite opponents.
My all time favorite is New Orleans, I made gumbo that the crowd at my house thought I had catered. It was a pain in the ass making the roux but it was delicious and worth the effort.
I wish I still did this.
For D.C...big thing there is Ben's Chili Bowl. Lots of famous people and Presidents have eaten there, it's a D.C. staple and tradition. Probably could Google a knock-off recipe of Ben's Chili.
I like this thread.

Kidding?
Chesapeake Bay. Crabs.... Maryland Crab soup.
Mumbo sauce wings....
For ATL. It's Georgia, so peaches.... Peach cobbler????
sure, you can use them for this, you can do whatever you want, but I felt it was a stretch (for me).
I felt like in my 5 years down there I felt like DC/NoVA had no food identity. Which is fine, not every city does and that region might be the most transient one on the planet - tough to instill traditions when no one is from there or stays there.

Oh, and regarding Dallas. They only make two things in Texas.... Steers and Queers.... So steaks of course!
But only half the people will like it the other half won’t talk to you for liking it

Exactly. Crab is a Baltimore thing.
Half-smokes are legit DC. Never seen them anywhere else. Can't think of anything else that's unique to the area. I mean, you could do Virginia-specific things like country ham biscuits, maybe, but those are more of a Tidewater thing in origin.
