There are three things that contributed to the drop.
#1 I don't know if everyone remembers this, but it was actually raining!!!
#2 The pass was off of his fingertips, when it initially hit him. I mean the ends of his fingertips, and not on the palms of his hands. He tried to bring it in, but because of the rain, it slipped out.
Whoever said it hit his palms is a liar. And to say he wasn't extended, that is also a lie, he was extended. The only way maybe he could have caught it, is if he dived for it, but it then would have been just a 6 yard gain, and no first down.
#3 This was a routine throw, not complicated. This is not to place blame on Eli, or Shepard, it could have gone either way, but Eli made way more complicated throws during that game than this one. This should have been an easy throw for Eli, but it was raining so that could have affected his accuracy as well.
If Shepard caught it, and ran with it, he only would have gotten the first down, not much yac, two defenders were right there. Plus Shepard was tired, end of game, you could tell.

First, that video very clearly shows the the ball hit him in the fingers and not in his palms.
Second, why do you feel the need to be such a dick to someone trying to make a legit point?

You sir are a liar. and I'm calling you out on it. The ball hit exactly on the inside part of his fingers, where the knuckles are on the opposite side.
That is no where near the palms of his hands, as you said. I would encourage you to get an eye exam, cuz there is something seriously wrong with your vision and your ability to understand and perceive things.
