If an OL plays 10 snaps and wins 8 of them, it's true to say they made lots of good plays. However, if you lose two badly, and so badly that they stall drives, you better improve or else.
What he didn't (and imo won't) say, is that in spite of Flowers' failures, he's the best they got so they're sticking with him for better or worse and hope he improves.
I get it, PS just doesn't have any other options, but at the same time, can we please hold these guys accountable, just once? We've been babying these doughboys for years.

FFS man. You really want him to go public with any beefs he has with his players? And then you’d kill him for not keeping it in house.
Nobody on this site has a clue about how Shurmur is going about business behind closed doors and that’s the way it should be.

You don't have to humiliate the guy. But more emphasis on the need to get better and oline play in general not being acceptable and less excuse making as we saw last year and continues today.

I think what Shurmur did was exactly like what Eli always does, that is not throw anyone under the bus. Eli always compliments the O-line no matter how much pressure they allow.
We do not know what Shurmur says in private to the team.
You don't exactly have to throw a guy under the bus to send a subtle message. I'm not a fan of the coddling when something is clearly broken. I'm just not.

Again, why the hell does he have to go through the media to send a message? It’s none of the media’s or fans business what’s going on in that lockeroom. Coddling? And you know this, how? You have no clue how he’s handled Flowers. None

You're getting heated over this, lol? I'm not a fan. What do you want me to say? Plenty of coaches would have handled the question differently. It's not my preference, now move on.

Agree 1000%
But, PS cant say anything negative or ekse hed totally lose Flowers..he has to sugsr coat things.

Not a single coach in this league is going to call out a player for the media and the Fan's benefit. Nobody does that anywhere.

Yeah...I dont get posts like this as if we are privy to the fact that the player is being coddled behind closed doors. None of us know a thing on how the players are handled, other than what is said at a press conference.
What would you think of your boss at your job for embarrassing you during a meeting in front of everyone when you made a huge mistake? Those things are handled behind closed doors. Period.
RE: I wonder what Parcells would have said about Flowers Â
But unless the OL plays better, nothing else really matters.
The beats are just trying to stir the pot. We all know damn well if Wheeler was even at the level of play that Flowers is, he'd be in there already.
I recall (years ago) the questions were intended to gain insight and understanding.
Nowadays, the questions appear to be baiting the HC with an eye towards creating drama, storylines and controversy.
Self serving questions / comments.

Were truthful or to just diffuse any potential contributions but if the former he has a much more optimistic and positive view than many on BBI

If Wheeler is worse than what we saw this Sunday he should go the way of Bisnowaty ASAP, because that's a wasted roster spot.
