A number of Jets defenders said they knew what plays the Lions were going to run based on formation and Stafford hand signals. Allowed them to jump routes, get five picks.
but it seems that they got lucky in one regard, missing on Patricia. The Lions haven't looked good all preseason, and they sure looked like hot garbage tonight.

You just can't trust Bills coordinators.
Glad the Giants passed on Patricia. Another good move by our GM.

Actually, the rumors were we were spurned by Patricia and that he was our first HC target, so not exactly a good move by Gettleman, just luck.
This most likely is nothing more than picking up on things while watching game film. Certain formations and tells. Certain audibles from Stafford, etc.
Most likely has nothing to do with "stealing" anything.
What I never understood about the him is that he never built a good defense in recent years with the Pats and under Bill. It was the same with Mcadoo and his offense. If you can't produce with the 1 unit you are in charge of, what makes you think they can produce running the whole team?
Will always bleed blue, but this Jet's team seems easy to root for. Darnold seems like a good kid, and the coach is no Rex Ryan A-hole type coach.
Never understood why Jets-Giants fans hate each other, when we don't even play in the same division/conference, and the success of one does not affect the other unless its the Superbowl.
but I agree that this Jets team is less obnoxious than is recent years. That said, Jets fans are typically such colossal douches that ... yeah, no way I can "root for the Jets."
I think Tampa Bay said something similar about our scheme.... Â
Could be nothing but there are some parallels - already rumors of vets not liking him, media has been quick to turn, opposing players calling them out and the sloppy disposition on the sideline. Way too early to tell but something to keep an eye on.

but this suddenly repeated narrative that the Pats defense was garbage with him is ridiculous. His defenses may have given up a lot of yards, but they were very difficult to score against.
Those are some ridiculously good numbers and consistency. Even when he was ranked 10th, the numbers are really, really good. For example, in 2015 there were 4 teams tied for 6th at 19.6 ppg.
Furthermore, those defenses were really lacking in star power. It was almost all scheme. Almost every time a player reached FA and wanted big contracts NE let them go. Additionally they were consistent, not collapsing when they faced injuries, etc.
I can understand the argument that he isn't a good coach based on how Detroit looks now, or that he shouldn't get credit for the NE defenses with Lil Bill running things there. I can't at all accept an argument that the defenses in NE have been bad. They most certainly have not. If we'd had their defense in 2014/2015 we almost certainly win the NFC East and a lot of games.
with McAdoo. They knew the routes the WR's were going to run.
Oh.. it was even easier than that. Defenses would show heavy blitz pre-snap and would force Eli to audible out of the original play. Then, they knew the FEW options Eli would switch to based upon history.
Familiarity with the patriots?
Cheating?
Anytime Belichick lets these clowns go they fall to bits. Patricia will be another one added to the boneyard.
Years from now we'll laugh about Darnolds first throw. After that...16/20 198yds 2 tds. Looked incredible.
Could've hung 60 on garbage Detroit tonight

Meh... He's no Duke Johnson. The File would have thrown for 400 yds 4 tds and a perfect 20 for 20. And that's against hot garbage

If you ain't cheatin, you ain't trying hard enough ;)
I wouldn't be surprised to learn that Patricia brought some signals straight in from NE figuring that nobody would notice.

Yeah. I think it was the Rams.
It's just one game, but it's hard to conceive of a much worse start for Patricia in Detroit.

I don't believe those rumors.
Points per game rankings:
2017: 5th (18.5 ppg)
2016: 1st (15.6 ppg)
2015: 10th (19.7 ppg)
2014: 8th (19.6 ppg)
2013: 10th (21.1 ppg)

There are a hundred ways that could become cheating, like taping Detroit practices, etc. No evidence of any of those.
