NGT: How did JPP do?

SHO'NUFF : 9/11/2018 11:59 am
and other former Giants?
Barely played
Anakim : 9/11/2018 12:01 pm : link
JPP got injured early in the first quarter and was limited.

Kennard looked like the best Lion on defense...which isn't saying much
I was wondering the same thing

JPP injured?

Not surprising.

Getting a 3rd round pick while dumping that contract was Masterful by Gettleman.

I think we got BJ Hill out of it? Not enough superlatives for how DG bamboozled TB.
Not sure how they did but

Bobby Hart is the Bengals starting RT and I did see Dwayne Harris returning a punt for the Raiders last night

Bobby Hart also was given a rating of 32 by PFF for his performance Sunday...amongst the worst of all Olinemen in the league.

It's a measure of the Lions lack of defensive talent that Kennard starts for them. He stinks.

Moving JPP was the smartest thing Gettleman did this off-season.

I am a huge JPP fan and thought he was very underrated after his hand injury, but signing him long-term after he injured his abdomen and had two surgeries was collosal mistake on Reese's part.

JPP was clearly not ready going into last season and you cannot commit to guys that age with core body injuries.
Totally agree on
rebel yell : 9/11/2018 12:32 pm : link
jettisoning JPP. He was done. There was a lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth on here....but it was a brilliant DG move.
I still think that Gettlemens first offseason has been very good

Got rid of JPP with his huge contract. Traded for Ogletree who I think is gonna be solid if not great, Signed Martin, Solder and Lattimer who I think by mid season will show to be outstanding, great draft, our first 4 picks were starting on Sunday: Barkley, Hernandez, Carter and Hill.

Were clearly a garbage olinemen factory.
Liked him for his 2011 run
Aqua Giants : 9/11/2018 1:02 pm : link
but he would get quiet as a mouse for a long stretch

Also giving Odell his extension.
Any comments on the other ex Giant OL ?

How did Pugh, Richburg, etc. look ?
DRC
cjac : 9/11/2018 1:41 pm : link
looked pretty jacked last night
I wish we still had Pugh
djm : 9/11/2018 2:00 pm : link
Call me crazy. Great idea to replace him AND add another talent to the ol, problem is we merely replaced him with Hernandez. Great. We still suck at guard.

Pugh was a perfectly serviceable RT, which is more than Flowers was on Sunday.

When he plays. That was the problem with him. He didn't play nearly enough.

One of the great mysteries of 2015-2017 was why we didn't move Pugh back to Tackle after Beatty went down or later when it was obvious we had major problems there. He wasn't great but serviceable Guards are easier to find than serviceable Tackles. He did play some tackle in 2017 but that was only due to injuries.
He Won the game single-handed

Sorry but we can not have a whole JPP thread with no hand jokes
You have to
