Huge divisional game against two 0-1 teams. We know the stage is set.
I was able to watch some of the DAL vs CAR game, but not all of it or in any detail, so I'm curious to hear what everyone thinks about how the Giants matchup with them early this season.
The forumla is pretty much set on defense - Stop the run, and Elliot and the defense has a chance to get to Prescott with some consistency.
Prescott's mobility worries me, especially after the loss in contain on Bortles last week..hopefully not a trend forming.
The other is who covers Beasley in the slot? I like Apple and Jenkins' matchups on the outside, but if its Webb vs Beasley, advantange Cowboys.

On offense, all eyes once again are on Flowers and how he bounces back. The Cowboy's best unit as of now is probably their front 7, and Lawrence has shown to be in the conversation of elite... Aside from that, I like our skill players vs their secondary, and the Cowboys are not the Jaguars in that regard.
Thoughts?
Team is Not good enough to give up points...
30? Whats that?
But I like our skill players vs their Secondary.
Just have to stop beating themselves.
True but they wont face a DL or another front 7 like that anytime soon.
Sure Houston and Bears will challenge them but nothing like Jags.
Lots of 3 and outs and tire out the D.
I am not sure Gregory will play against us- concussion and possible disciplinary action. We should be able to make some big plays against their secondary. we were very close vs. Jags.
I hope we score more than the three points we scored against Dallas last year (in Dallas).
With that said, I don't think Dallas is as good as Jax defensively. Their WR's aren't very good, so 8 in the box and dare Dak to beat us.
Their D is ok with some talent in the front 7 but they're not the Jags or even the Giants for that matter. The match ups look like they favor us most everywhere. All we have to do is win.
Dallas only ran the ball 15 times against Carolina. I expect to see a lot more Ezekiel Elliot behind their all pro linemen.
Dallas on paper has good pass rushers. It could be another long day for the Giants O-line.
Play clean game on O and ST
Being on the road makes it a little tougher, but Dallas generally seems a little more unsettled than us right now even though we have a new coach. Fredrick is a big loss. Their K is new and he missed a kick week 1. No more Witten and Dez so Cole Beasley led them in passing last week.
I think Shurmur and this offense will put up more points than last week. If the defense shows up I think it's a win.
While their offense did look atrocious on Sunday , by no means do I expect to see the same level on Sunday. They will be better, and they will be at home.
I think this is going to be a dogfight, old school type matchup. Really close game, a lot of running the ball, a lot of field position battle. This comes down to the turnover battle and avoiding the major penalties. NYG has the advantage because their passing game is loaded with weapons, but it won't matter if the NYG OL stands at their current level of play.
DAL will come out hungry in their home opener and their pass rush-DB duo is very solid. If NYG can avoid the turnover loss, I think they win a 19-17 type game.
I won't be surprised to see several big plays and some sloppy D on both sides of the ball.
He might be good against Beasley. Slippery waterbug of a receiver. I think DD could keep up with him in the slot.
It's a major disadvantage, because their D-line will be able to get pressure on Eli and the run game, but will the Giants D be able to pressure Prescott?
second they qere missing thwir best receiver in olsen..
entire second half panthers basically jist dumped off to mccaffrey and just sat on the ball

They also held our offense to a grand total of 13 points in 2 games last year, and they made our offensive line look silly.

why does last year mean anything?
the giants 2 best offensive players they have this year theh did not have last year...
yup i was ok with loss sunday because i expexted it but this game should be a win..
prescott can not throw anything more than 20 yards, thwir center is hurt and starting a rookie at left guard...
If this team is 0-4, yikes this will be ugly.
If we beat Dallas, I'd be supremely disappointed if we aren't at least 2-2.

feel Deyon may be a better slot cb option this week?
He might be good against Beasley. Slippery waterbug of a receiver. I think DD could keep up with him in the slot.
I disagree. Deayon is more of an instinctive player....its not like he is super quick twitch because hes small. He has instincts, a knack gor routes and good ball skills. None of those are what you need for Beasley.
Beasley should be covered by Apple honestly. You need an athlete who can press him and cover lots of ground quickly. Beasley runs what amount to optiin routes where his movements are unpredictable. Id put our best athlete on him and let Deayon cover a receiver who runs more traditional routes.
I wonder how long these people been Giants fans?? I wouldn't say no chance but I would be surprised at a win to say the least
Expect the Cowboys to look way better at home
Turnovers must be avoid Lawrence worries me the most
He could force a strip sack or fumble gonna have to help
out whomever keeping him at bay .
Have to win in the redzone the FG game won't get it done
also special teams not giving up big returns .
