Fantasy Trade (will delete shortly)

Leg of Theismann : 9/11/2018 1:33 pm
Hey guys, sorry I'm not posting this on the FF thread, but I need some quick advice on an FF trade and have to make a decision quickly. I promise I will delete this shortly after I make my decision (which will be soon)...

I'd be giving up:
Julio Jones
Travis Kelce
Kenyan Drake

In return I'm getting:
OBJ
Devonta Freeman

It seems like a good deal, but I'm just a little uneasy about Freeman for some reason. But Gore looked good for Miami and might take some of Drake's production.

One catch: It's a keeper league and Drake will have a 5th rd keeper value next season. The other keeper values in this instance don't really matter.

I'm trying to also get the guy to throw in Peyton Barber or Alshon Jefferey but not sure it's going to happen.

What do y'all think??
I have OBJ and Freeman
bLiTz 2k : 9/11/2018 1:36 pm : link
and lost this week :(

Freeman kinda scares the hell outta me this year right now...although I think OBJ might be worth it depending on who else you have.
Hell no

I wouldn’t want Freeman at all, I bet Drake has a better season. They difference between Jones and Beckham won’t be big either way and then losing Kelce on top of it would make it an instant reject.
My next TE up would be Doyle btw
Leg of Theismann : 9/11/2018 1:37 pm : link
in Indy. I guess I could also find one on the waiver wire. But yeah I'm accepting the fact that I'm losing a lot of TE points, but I do feel Kelce will not be as consistent with Mahomes as he was with Alex Smith. Smith relied on Kelce's short routes and crossing routes a lot whereas Mahomes is going to be able to throw the ball downfield a lot more. KC also has a ton of weapons, so I just feel Kelce is overvalued right now. But then again Freeman might also be.
In other words
UConn4523 : 9/11/2018 1:38 pm : link
it’s a trade worth considering if Kelce wasn’t part of it.

Hahaha and that is a big IF.

Drake was a 9th round keeper for me this year. Huge steal IMO. I'm just hoping Gore doesn't have a huge comeback year and steal his spotlight.
I just think you are selling Kelce short
UConn4523 : 9/11/2018 1:42 pm : link
for not that much upside in return. Even if Kelce takes a 20% hit on production he’s still going to be better than anyone that you’d fill his shoes with.

UConn...

What about:

OBJ and Freeman

for

Jones, Kelce, Carlos Hyde.
I get your point though
Leg of Theismann : 9/11/2018 1:48 pm : link
Kelce is a big producer. Can't sell him short.
Horrible trade
GmeninPSL : 9/11/2018 1:54 pm : link
don't do it!!

Even with replacing Drake with Hyde??
Ok lets look at this
superspynyg : 9/11/2018 2:00 pm : link
Jones = OBJ
Freeman is as of now better than Drake. But Freeman splits time with Coleman who looks better this year.

Kelce is the stud that is being thrown in for no reason at all.

KEEP KELCE!!!

By the way..for even considering this trade you should be banned from fantasy forever.

He took Drake out and now just wants Hyde. So I'm giving up Kelce to "upgrade" from Hyde to Freeman.

Everyone is so down on Freeman, he was drafted so high in so many leagues.

I really appreciate everyone's advice though this is extremely helpful.
I think that is an awful trade
Giants56 : 9/11/2018 2:04 pm : link
For you.

Odell and Julio are comparable and I personally like Drake better than Freeman but there isn't a big difference.

You'd be giving Kelce away after one bad week, he's a stud in a strong offense.
Hyde makes it more doable
UConn4523 : 9/11/2018 2:04 pm : link
but I still don’t get the Kelce angle. I’d just keep my team as is and if you really want to get rid of Kelce, package him with your Wr2 or RB2 and upgrade there.
I wouldn't do it with Hyde
Giants56 : 9/11/2018 2:05 pm : link
instead of Drake either.
I'll admit guys
Leg of Theismann : 9/11/2018 2:10 pm : link
I did FF for 10 straight years and then took the last 2 years off due to taking exams. I think I missed the fact that Kelce is a huge producer haha. Glad I drafted him.

It's just funny because I got Kelce #30 overall and Freeman was taken #12 overall. Hyde, meanwhile, I believe I got in the 7th or 8th round. Usually I would think giving up a 7th or 8th roudn draft pick to move up from #30 to #12 would be worth it, but sounds like this is a pretty bad idea.

^^this is correct. Not only is it a bad trade for you, it's REALLY bad. I wouldn't even do the deal if you additionally got Barber or Jeffery.
Theisman
UConn4523 : 9/11/2018 2:13 pm : link
don’t look at ADP, look at positional value. You are essentially swapping WRs and RBs that could be a wash and throwing in a top 3 TE on top of it.

It's funny it sounds like most people wouldn't trade Kelce for Freeman straight-up, so it's funny that Freeman had such a higher ADP.

UConn...

For me, think about Freeman's value as a guy you are going to get the next 4-6 games of. I don't believe you are going to get a good year or a complete season from Freeman. He doesn't protect himself well and he's not taking the hits as well as he used to, either. It's a bad combination and I see Freeman on IR before November.
BTW guys
Leg of Theismann : 9/11/2018 2:16 pm : link
I tried to offer him Landry and Kelce for OBJ. I also wanted Peyton Barber but he wouldn't even do it if Barber wasn't involved. I thought I had offered a pretty good deal but he just didn't think Landry was going to be worth it. Now I think about it I almost made a huge mistake.
Freemans ADP is higher because of his position
UConn4523 : 9/11/2018 3:07 pm : link
and how everyone, IMO, overvalued RBs. In most 12 team drafts I’ve seen as many as 16 RBs taken which is absurd.

16 RBs taken... where? In the first 2 rounds. Or within the first 16 picks??

I hear what you're saying though. I am certainly guilty of over-valuing RBs. I always thought there were like 10 RBs who were consistently good and after that who knows, and I thought Freeman was one of those ~10. I thought having 2 of those 10 would be extremely valuable (I already have MGIII), but I see why I might be undervaluing Kelce. Glad I talked it out with you guys.

It's just funny. Melvin Gordon III went the pick right before Freeman. I would think trading Kelce to upgrade from Hyde to MGIII (or even up to Fournette, who went later) would be a no-brainer. Maybe I'm just not realizing how valuable Kelce is.
