I think we're going to win, and my gut feeling is that it isn't going to be close.
You and I don’t agree on many things around here
bigbluehoya : 9/12/2018 9:46 am : link
But I’m with you. I have a very eerie confidence.

Cheers!
You guys

I'd love a laugher like the Jets had on Monday. That'd be nice, for once.
I really expect the giants to win by 10
Joey from GlenCove : 9/12/2018 9:55 am : link
and i am very optimistic about the passing game
Giants have a shot for sure
JonC : 9/12/2018 9:56 am : link
Cowboys are not a juggernaut and Giants are due for an early signature win.
I also think they'll pull out a win
jcn56 : 9/12/2018 9:58 am : link
but the 'not going to be close' part seems unrealistic, which is usually the case for division opponents.
Dallas is ready to fall apart
Kyle in NY : 9/12/2018 9:58 am : link
the signs are there. Get it done.
We'll see.
Britt in VA : 9/12/2018 9:58 am : link
Just a gut feeling.

I think this is going to be an offensive coming out party for us.
Classic Eli
MadPlaid : 9/12/2018 10:00 am : link
Throwing shade at the Cowboys on the christening of their new stadium. Ha!

This game is winnable, but I am not counting my chickens until the Giants start to play better consistently.
I'm tired of feeling pessimistic....
Britt in VA : 9/12/2018 10:01 am : link
In the words of Michael Strahan, "believe it, and it will happen!"
Eli used to own that stadium....
Britt in VA : 9/12/2018 10:02 am : link
there was a stretch, and it was usually prime time games, where he would light that place up.

I think it's coming again.
LOL a laugher? What the hell is a laugher?
Jints in Carolina : 9/12/2018 10:10 am : link
When was the last time we won a game easily?
I believe you had a gut feeling we'd defeat Jacksonville

I think you're trying to talk yourself into something. You aren't alone.
I am going to Dallas

with my two sons.I am with you Britt. I feel good about this one. Just like the match up.

I did, and that was a winnable game, just didn't happen.
uh huh
Greg from LI : 9/12/2018 10:19 am : link
Sure they will
I disagree
Giant John : 9/12/2018 10:20 am : link
Not with the win but this is a division game. They better strap it on tight.
The signature on that pillar is what, 8 years old?
Go Terps : 9/12/2018 10:25 am : link
I think the Giants will win too, in large part because I think Dallas might be really bad this year.

But I fear the OP catches perfectly where this franchise is - stuck in the past.
You know, this isn't war....
Britt in VA : 9/12/2018 10:28 am : link
This is supposed to be entertaining and fun.

If you feel like they're going to suck and lose every week, it's not fun. Why bother?
I soooo badly want us to win this game
tbonfig : 9/12/2018 10:39 am : link
but when is the last time this team won anything when "it wasn't even close."

We've always played it conservatively, even when winning. I hope one day we'll have a team that steps on the throat of a team over and over again.
I want it to be fun as much as the next person
Go Terps : 9/12/2018 10:43 am : link
But I'm not going to let that cloud my judgment of what is actually happening.

Your sentiment captures perfectly what I think happens here, particularly this offseason. Reality is bent to fit a more pleasant narrative.
There were a lot of things to be encouraged by Sunday....
Britt in VA : 9/12/2018 10:45 am : link
This isn't last years team.

I think it's fair to be optimistic in the preseason because you really never know what is coming your way. Did anyone see either the 07 or 11 runs coming? When Strahan was holding out in 07, there was every logical reason in the world to believe the team was going to flame out and TC would be fired.

Of course, when the bullets start flying reality sets in. Too soon really, because we played one really good opponent and save for a few mistakes we could easily have won, but in a few weeks we'll have a pretty good idea what this team is capable of, and I'm afraid it's going to be more in line with Terps' vision than Britt's (and I hope I'm wrong).

Exactly this. When there's a reason for optimism, I'll be optimistic. I haven't seen any yet.

And, since I know someone will mention Barkley's TD run - no, that's not enough. Aside from that run, he was 17-38. That's not an indictment of him, it's an indictment of the putrid OL.
The Dallas D looks vastly better,
Section331 : 9/12/2018 10:49 am : link
but that offense is a shit show. Keep Zeke in check, and I think we win handily.
It’s time for Eli to have a big game..
Sean : 9/12/2018 10:52 am : link
Eli hasn’t lost us games, but it’s been a damn long time since he’s won us a game too.
Look what Fournette did to our Defense

What might Ezekiel Elliott do?

9-41? Not ideal, but I don't think that merits a "look what he did to the defense!!" The most damaging run by far was Bortles.

I just had this conversation with a buddy yesterday. When was the last time Eli willed us to victory? Praying for 300 yards and 3 touchdowns this week.
I hope that Elliott desn't get to slurp his soup at all this week.
fivehead : 9/12/2018 11:18 am : link
Shut him down.
I hope you are right

So now we have moved to picking the Giants AND going with the "over"?
Jimmy Googs : 9/12/2018 11:56 am : link
I must have missed the sticky where we swapped tackles with the Eagles...

I will say that Sunday's loss was far less demoralizing than the early season losses we saw last year.

We looked like a functional team. We just couldn't get that big play when we needed it.

The Giants looked PUTRID Week 1 last year. It was very different.

I think we can and will beat Dallas Sunday.

We have to. It's our season. I really believe that - if we lose, this is just going to turn into another lost season. We have to win.

In order for the Giants to win by a big number...
Jim in Tampa : 9/12/2018 12:26 pm : link
They need Dallas not to show up and I'm not speaking figuratively. I mean that Dallas would literally not have to show up and even if that happened I still think the game might be close.

When was the last time the Giants scored 30?

and guess who the Eagles interim Head Coach was?!
Crazy that
rocco8112 : 9/12/2018 1:44 pm : link
Was almost a decade ago, and I think this game is a must win, but I have no confidence in this team until proven otherwise. Giants are currently a team of losers who have built a culture of losing. They have to show otherwise until I have confidence going into any game.

This is especially true if it is jailbreak city again with the o line and they are teeing off on Eli and holding this team to one yard a carry. If that same song plays, prepare for O and two and another long losing season.
30?
Doomster : 9/12/2018 4:21 pm : link
This offense has only scored 20 or more points, in 2 of it's last 11 games......
