He signed with the injury riddled Panthers today ... 8 year vet with 53 starts ... doss anybody know anything else about him and if the Giants considered him ???
Going to come at this point and be better..people want to just replace him and don’t realise it could be even worse.
That is how fans are. They just want someone replaced and don't care that person replacing them is likely even worse. Chris Clark was even worse than Ereck Flowers last year at LT and the Texans wanted no part of him anywhere on their line.
some very telling plays viewed from one of the articles in wed. reading section......there must be someone else on the team that can at least slide, and stand in front of, and get run over by charging defensive linemen/linebackers, because at least that amount of added time to eli's time in the pocket will help immensely.....E.F., with no fullback/H back help is completely incapable, he is not mobile.....he never shifts his weight, he just essentially backs up, then waves at the charging rhinos headed at eli....the game film makes you think that flowers maybe hates eli, and wants him slammed into the turf. will be difficult to have 15 similar games this season....
a variation of this posted over the past few days:

A FB is not intended to help in pass protection for the tackle. He is intended to be a lead blocker for the HB. If Flowers gets help, it will be from the TE or a player coming in motion.
of the league when they lose or are in need of a tackle, quickly find other options. The Giants on another hand, love to make life harder and stick with the same crap until it's to late?! Man I would love to work for the Giants, knowing you can't get demoted or fired for shit..
could move a guard to Tackle and Flowers inside. I say give it another game but I am sure the Giants are thinking of options. That said if he woke up and actually showed up for the first two plays it might have been a little less of a problem.

Actually, I was listening to Ron Rivera on SiriusXM talking about how they were using their PS more to offset injuries, and Pat Kirwan said that he thought given the lack of practice time now it made more sense to dip into the PS than it did to try to hire a vet (unless it was a very good vet) to fill the gap.
because Flowers is going to play all year, we might as well just start rooting for him to improve. there's no quick fix to this, its a 2 year rebuild.
No playoffs this year for the Giants, but did anyone really expect that? we're moving in the right direction, and Flowers wont be on the team next year

Just because they picked up a guy doesn't mean that he's any good. Don't you think that if he was starter material he would have already been on a team?
No, they didn’t...according to Ed Valentine.

Hal Hunter has to be furious.

Seemed to make sense.

LOVED that play. Start games like that and you’ll certainly make DE’s think twice when rushing.
