Question on NFL Network blackout restriction (if they exist)

Mike in Long Beach : 9/14/2018 2:52 pm
I'll keep this short and to the point. Will delete later.

If you're in the local market and a team is playing on NFL Network, is the game blacked out on NFL Network and broadcasted on a non-cable channel?

The key part of the question is the black out part. Has to do with the Jets this Thursday. I actually will only be able to view the game on NFL Network and will be in New York, and want to make sure it won't be blacked out on that channel here.

Thank you in advance.

I'm almost positive it's on NFL Network and simulcast on one of the non-cable networks. So both.
NFL Network goes their own way.

Based on what we see here in western New York, the NFL Network does not appear to follow the same blackout restrictions as other television providers. They appear to follow their own rules. Every summer they refuse to air GIANTS games in western New York even though WNY is Bills territory.

It's just one more way that the NFL is thumbing its nose at its supporters.

Thanks, Danny. That's what I'm hoping for.
Not sure what the NFL network does ...

But, even DirecTV's Football package blacks out the local games in the area (which surprised me initially) but, usually they are on the local channels ....
