#Yankees are activating Aaron Judge from the disabled list. He can play defense and run the bases, but will not be used as a hitter yet.
----------------------------
just a feeling that he hasn't had enough bp yet to be ready. As a fielder or runner there's no need for "practice", and since the roster spot is irrelevant, they figured why not. Seems unlikely they'd use him, but if something comes up where they need another runner or fielder, he's available.
Does anyone REALLY believe that the Yanks are going to run Judge out there unless he can hit?!
Its just a procedural move- AAA team's playoff run ends today or tomorrow, so there are not minor league rehab ABs to be gained by being on the DL, so why not just activate him.
The Yanks have Torreyes active- and he hasn't played since August 31st.

Yeah, it's not that weird - he can't be sent on a rehab assignment with SWB and because the rosters are expanded now, activating him won't cause any type of crunch. He's probably really close to being cleared to hit. I bet early next week he's in the lineup.
It sounds like he's made good progress over the last couple weeks, so this is good news.
RE: I doubt there's injury concern about his hitting, Â

Bullshit. If there is one thing he can do, it is hit..
RE: This team is doing some very odd shit down the stretch Â
After playing a horse shit outfield all of August.
Pitching Sonny Gray entirely too much all season.
Not sure of the exact game but blowing a 9th inning lead with Betances after pitching Britton two innings in the 7th and 8th after he had been great in the 9th and Betances was doing great in the 8th leading up to that outting when he had no business not pitching the 8th.
Playing listless baseball in Oakland and Minny.
Shall I continue?
As far as Judge......... He is either healed or he isn’t. If there are concerns about him hitting he should not be doing anything that could subject him to being injured. So he can’t hit but he can possibly run into the wall or dive to make a play in the outfield. How does that make sense?

Well so much for that. They obviously wanted to get him on the field any way, any how.
Because otherwise, just putting him out there as a defensive sub doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

This team isn’t done yet. Get Judge some reps, Chapman back and this team can get some momentum headed into the playoffs.
