What was the most enjoyable time(s) to be on this board

Big Blue '56 : 9/16/2018 9:17 am
in-season?

Sorry for starting two threads today, but I didn’t want this to get buried in the other thread.

I joined in February of 2001. Since that time, the 2007 and 2011 playoff runs and Super Bowls were the best and most enjoyable moments on here. Save for the trolls and usual suspects, it was a great pkace to be. The REGULAR seasons in 2007 and 2011 were near torture, but, ahh, those playoff runs.

You?

for me - spending time with everyone and then yakking with them all year round was great -- that personal element seems to be dissipating with time
Fellas, I said IN-SEASON.

That said, I love tge draft and FA time and gidie, couldn’t agree more. I’ve made lifetime friends on here, mostly because of the Albany camp experience

maybe you meant to say in-season -- but it does not say in season in the OP

RAZE -- where are you? -- it's time for discipline

RAZE is a mercenary fag. Gidie, as soon as you open thread, the first words are ‘in-season’

gidie, I agree with the dissipating with time point.

The weeks leading to the last three SBs were all fun.

Playing with “house money” and all that. I was lurking before XXXV, bailed for a while, then joined for real in 2003. The 2004 coaching change and Draft run-up were probably more interesting, but less fun. I liked Kerry Collins, and thought Coughlin and Accorsi were both full of sh!t.
Sticking to regular season, the first weeks of 2003 were great.

Lots of excitement. Then came the Dallas MNF disaster, followed by Westbrook/Seubert.

You old farts. For me it was when Mark S and be led the crusade of realists during the Fassel and Dan Reeves eras. Sorry I mean Dan Reese. The place was like our current political climate, thorny, cantankerous and downright fun and scary at the same time. Guys like Rico and TiNL, Daniel in Kentucky and his outsider reports, calling Strahan M$ and telling us how much better Jevon Kearse would be long term. Danny Kanell having"it", Kent Graham and smirk gate. Rebe, MiS, Big Al, Bama Bish, Alister, John Boni, cjac, CiP, Pete's Corner when there was a Pete, Randy in CT, Rob in NYC, Mike from Manhattan and I am sure others. Those were the days for me.

Probably the 2008 season when the Giants were undefeated and they were beginning to look like perennial contenders. That is until Plaxico shot himself.

But then..

But yeah that season reminded me of the 86' season when we were rolling teams to a 10-0 record and an eventual SB win.

Back then I think I had a 1200 baud internet connection when I found BBI. Finding the original Pete's Corner crew was like stumbling into a speakeasy where everyone was wearing a Giant shirt and had the same aggressively good natured opinions of your old buddies. I knew I found a home.

You are correct. I kept thinking Washington, but it happened a day or 2 before that game when we were 10-1. We won that Skins game without him to go 11-1. That’s why YOU’RE in Canton and I’m not. :)

Yeah, .... when the board was in it's infancy it seemed more enjoyable and I swear I don't know why. The cast of characters back then - there was always something going on.

I think the board's success (and I am happy for BBI and Eric) took away from some of it's personality, charm, ...it is still a GREAT meeting place for Giant fans but, it is a different kind of great(?).
The week after we beat Favre and the Packers in the NFCC

in Lambeau. Thought for sure we were not going to pull that one out, as did all Packer fans. That season, and that game, were just awesome, and then to cap it off with the SB win is totally memorable.

On the NFT side, the 2000 presidential election was pretty good as we all learned a lot about election law, especially in FL. I always appreciated a lot of Slefrak’s posts. And, we had a lot of in depth discussions with no butt hurt feelings. Miss those days...

slightly oddball answer - 08 or 10 reg season
Eric on Li : 9/16/2018 5:21 pm : link
just because I think those were the most harmonious regular seasons where everyone was confident in coach + qb. 08 was an awesome year until the plax shooting, 2010 was also great until matt dodge became matt dodge. But at the same time this place needs a little bit of controversy.
