there's no way the ball wasn't past the LOS. It clearly has to be the entire body of the QB past the LOS for the rule to be enforced, otherwise they'd have called it. It's also consistent with the explanation the announcers gave.
(a) A forward pass thrown when the passer is beyond the line of scrimmage.
Note: It is a forward pass from beyond the line of scrimmage if the passer’s entire body and the ball are beyond the line of scrimmage when the ball is released, whether the passer is airborne or touching the ground. The penalty for a forward pass thrown from beyond the line is enforced from the spot where the ball is released.
on the pass over LOS - just about any part of body behind makes it OK. You would think it would be judged by the ball/arm...and while the Steelers do seem to get many calls, that one may be right. Though I could see that getting overturned if it was Eli...
RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: Apparently you can throw the ball past the LOS Â
Had a play in the 08 season at Philly on a Sunday night where he scrambled and his whole body was past the LOS except his back foot. I believe the ref threw the flag, TC challenged it and the call was reversed. It was a big third down inside the eagles twenty I believe

I'd think folks were doing some serious drinking when they came up with that. Rule s/b any part of the ball or passer is forward of the line of scrimmage = penalty.

I'm surprised he's already being cleared to go next week. He looked very clunky on that knee just last week. I can't imagine he's improved THAT much in one week.

I think they realize there aren’t winning a thing without Wentz. Foles is very mediocre at best. Could have RGIII type repercussions if they are rushing him back.
Are going to have a target on their backs every week this year just like every SB team does, Wentz is going to have a bigger one on his back his first three or four games. Defenses are going to pressure him fast and hard on that knee.
Unfortunately (for him) the TE drops a big completion and the Jets punt.
That was a great play by Darnold, two rushers in his fave, spins to his left and throws a strike 40 yards down the field. Very impressive ability from this young qb.

If your back foot isn't. That's what the announcers are saying... Sounds like bullshit to me.
Its where the ball, not feet etc..clean td..ben brings them all the way back
That's not what I'm hearing. The ball was past the LOS.
I believe the QB's entire body has to be beyond LOS for it to be illegal
Its where the ball was..it was just behind the los...td
Nobody looks as awesome while getting shutout at home than BBI legend Sam Darnold!

The way I remember the rule is that the ball AND the passers entire body has to be beyond the LOS for it to be illegal.
Note: It is a forward pass from beyond the line of scrimmage if the passer’s entire body and the ball are beyond the line of scrimmage when the ball is released, whether the passer is airborne or touching the ground. That's wrong it's not where the ball is but your body

or what crick says
lol!
Yeah, why wasn’t that a safety.
So Darnold is now not the 2nd coming of the best rookie qb?
They called it a touchback.
Yep. Not sure if it's a bad throw or a receiver screw up. Weird pick.

Jets gets it in the red zone with a chance to turn the game around. Darnold throws an int in the EZ.

The INT wasn’t all his fault. He’s had some nice plays too.

No. Not until he throws a TD.
Yup. Really, really bad.

I saw that. Ball hit the TE in his hands and he drops it. Similar to Engram.
