Try again and hope adamg gets on started before me...

Lynn vs Pannone

Good easy top of 1st for Lynn

and McCutchen leads off with centerfield HR blast - followed by walk to Stanton and base knock for Hicks....

It's a football day for me. I'm pretending the Yanks don't exist today. Too painful to watch such a promising season go to shit
FYI:
jpkmets : 9/16/2018 2:48 pm : link
Mookie Betts just left our game in the 6th. Looks like he hurt an oblique throwing home.

Might be something (if it is an oblique) that would impact the ALDS.

Just passing it on.

No problem. I'm a 3rd tier thread starter (like an opener!). I know it is a football day. But I'm like the proverbial moth to the fire. PO'd one day, but I've let it go by the following. So I'll watch until they run out of games...

Lynn was good for 5. DRob good in the 6th. Guy throwing 79 mph junk with a 88 heater and they cannot hit it....
Sad watching MLB hitters

unable to hit a 69/70 mph hook. Not even making contact. Have to pray for a perfect BP today.

Worst Manager
PaulN : 9/16/2018 4:11 pm : link
I have ever seen. Cashman screwed every Yankee fan when he fired Girardi for this moron. Another loss to a real tough team. But this is a 90 win team, they are real good. Only an idiot would see this team as a good team at this point.
hard not to overreact
RasputinPrime : 9/16/2018 4:14 pm : link
but this team has too much talent to be playing this poorly. That has to hang on the coaches and manager.
Yawn...

Ummm Girardi wasn't fired.

I'm a fan of Joe's and not a big Boone supporter but he's far from the worst manager ever, and your post loses even more credibility when you say Cash fired Girardi. If you're going to go off, at least have your facts straight.
This game is not on Boone.
section125 : 9/16/2018 5:35 pm : link
Betances with cheappie weak contact hits. Boone is not swinging the bats.
I'm a critic of Boone, but he used the right relievers in the right situation.

They have to get Judge back into the lineup.
Anyone who thinks Cashman didn’t remove Girardi from the Yankees
arniefez : 9/16/2018 7:05 pm : link
Is completely clueless. We all know Girardi’s contract had expired but which part of Cashman telling you he recommended to ownership not to offer Girardi a new one confused you?

I'm not confused at all. Just being factual, and the fact is he wasn't fired. His contract expired and they (Cash) didn't offer him another one. Same end result, yes, but not fired.

Fired implies he was under contract and he wasn't. In fact, if he had another year to go on that contract, I think he would've been brought back. Cash can get away with not offering him another deal but firing a guy one win away from the WS who's owed some nice cash most likely wouldn't have happened.
Fair point
arniefez : 9/16/2018 7:35 pm : link
I didn’t think of it that way. But he was still basically fired. Although I agree the contract issue gave Cashman an easy out since it didn’t cost Hal any money actually saved him many millions. If this season continues to circle the drain Hal is going to be under a lot of pressure to buy players. Hopefully he and Cashman do better than the last time they did that.
Yanks just don't have their shit together...
M.S. : 9/16/2018 7:40 pm : link

...anymore. Big time mediocre team right now with a major league fucking fade in second half of season.

Either they turn this jalopy around in the next two weeks or they will be a one-and-done playoff team, and that assumes they make the playoffs.

Frankly, this team ain't ready for the playoffs.

True, it's semantics and the end result is the same but it would've been a bad look and tough thing to get away with to actually fire Joe after last year IMO. The money would've just added to it.

As you said, a much easier sell to just not offer him another deal, and oh by the way, save your boss millions.

Agreed about this upcoming offseason. It'll be interesting to say the least to see how they approach it. Do they go all George like and spend, spend, spend or just target a specific need. I think a lot will depend on how this season ends.

Oh, and I forgot to mention...
M.S. : 9/16/2018 7:43 pm : link

...Boonie can't carry Joe Girardi's fucking ditty bag.

They only need two starting pitchers. Rest of the team is pretty much set. I might sign McCutchen...

I think Marcus Thames may be in troubles with these awful at bats. It has been a Yankees MO for years now.

Severino, Tanaka, resign Happ, Sheffield(?) -

Love CC, but...Father Time wins
Lynn - fodder, 5 inning pitcher

If you don't think Girardi was a real good manager, you don't know what one is.
