Oline sucks, Dallas much better then folks think. Dak can throw better then people thought. I just don’t understand how people could dismiss this Dallas team given the circumstances.
Dallas is awful. Marineli just kicked Shurmur’s ass. And he knows how to rattle Eli. Eli hasn’t been good against Dallas since he’s been their DC
The brass and front office grossly over estimated Â
Eli Manning and the o line. Had Eli had an off year I could understand it, but he’s been pretty bad for 3+ seasons now. It is time to move on after this season. In fact, lauletta should start by week 8. Let’s see what he’s got. There was no way the giants were filling the holes in one off season.

Dallas is mediocre at best. This team is just horrific.
THe showing against Jacksonville was because there wasn't any film on Shurmur's Giants' approach/strategies yet.
When do we admit Eli is a big part of the problem? Â
so you can refer to it weekly. A GIF to remember - ( New Window )
But wait, he uses cute nicknames like Hog Mollies! And he hates nerds! And all that math, why the hell would anyone use math in sports?
This organization needed to flush the toilet - clean slate. New GM, new way of thinking, new scouts, new coaches. A fair evaluation of the roster with a rebuild based on that new approach.
What did we get instead? Two retreads, and the return of a formula that has been losing for years - an immobile pocket QB and an OL that couldn't block for Usain Bolt.
With an opportunity to pick from a list of promising college QBs in the deepest QB draft in years, we picked a RB 2nd overall - and made him one of the highest paid RBs in the league - on a team that can't block for shit and needed a QB at the latest within a year or two.
It would be fucking hysterical if it weren't so sad.

No. Dallas is dogshit. The Giants are simply that much worse.

I doubt it was that, they probably just figured with Fournette out it was easy enough to play a very conservative game and let the Giants beat themselves, which they did.
RE: This defense is playing just like last season.... Â
I didn’t see anything special from him. His Oline opened things up for him.
Barkley had to dance around just o get a few yards. Oline still a work in progress. Solder also not getting it done on the left side. We paid a lot of money for him.
is definitely part of the problem. As someone said. bad OL play is rampant, but other QBs are still more effective because they are mobile. The Giants overestimated how much they fixed the OL, and how important that was for Eli to be effective.
It's not just mobility. It's poise. Eli is shellshocked.
Agreed. He has no confidence.
RE: Giants were faced with the same exact scenario in '03-'04 Â
to fix the Hell Hole that Reese and Ross left this franchise in.
Fuck that noise - Reese is gone, and the excuse went with him.
Gettleman paid big bucks to Solder and Omameh, drafted Hernandez early in the 2nd, and they all look like shit thus far. And just for shits and giggles, he brought in Clay, whose best move for the team was getting injured (not that I'd wish it on him, I'd rather just cut him) and paid Stewart $3m to be a giant, fork wielding corpse.

Don’t agree. Dallas Defense is much better then ours. They can pressure the QB with their front 4, they have solid LBers and now their secondary is decent too. Offensively, they are very average and their RPOmate our lunch tonight, but I wouldn’t call them shit. League average perhaps, but much better then this shitshow we have anyway
RE: RE: What was the point of drafting Barkley if you're not going to use him? Â
He was featured a lot on screes and passes, the one scoring drive the team had he was the main reason it happened along with the one long pass to Latimer.
I don't remember too many screens. Maybe I'm forgetting one or two but most of the passes to Barkley were swing passes.
So far not much has paid off with the new regime Â
The coach makes the same strange in game decisions as McAdoo, has poor clock management like McAdoo and calls a similarly shitty game like McAdoo. And have any of the decisions Dave Gettleman made been successful yet?
So far there is no difference. So far, Reese/McAdoo = Gettleman/Shurmur
and Wayne Glamman at RB would not have changed the outcome of this game. The draft pick was not the wrong move. Putting Erik Flowers at RT and starting Omameh and Halapio are the issue. You can score points when guys have free runs as the QB and ball carrier.
This line is dreadful and nothing on offense will work until it is fixed.
It’s also scary that DG and Shurm both thought Eli has a lot left in the tank after evaluating him last year. He is toast.
Did they? Or did they understand that the ownership wanted Eli back and so they played along. Both were just glad to get second shots in their roles. Figured they'd make the best of it and probably convinced themselves it could work.
Another season of this shit is gonna be hard to take.
Getting it out of the can early helps. If they lose the next one, then you still have all of fall to enjoy the good weather and other, actual competitive football games on TV.
Hopefully, in the meanwhile someone at Giants HQ can help Mara dislodge his head from his ass and make a good move for a change.
Oline sucks, Dallas much better then folks think. Dak can throw better then people thought. I just don’t understand how people could dismiss this Dallas team given the circumstances.
I dismissed them because I am a CLOWN like the GIANTS.
Something to think about. The panthers have lost Norwell to FA (All Pro) and Trai Turner (Pro Bowl), Matt Kalil (Big $$ FA) and Daryl Williams (Pro Bowler) to injury since last year. I watched that entire game today and their offense was significantly better than ours. The titans lost their top 3 OTs to injury this year...they won. We're not the only team dealing with OL issues, we're just the only team that can't overcome them.

Maybe not. But I keep hearing that Barkley's inability to gain yardage is due to the OL, so there was no point in drafting him either when you consider the career longevity of a RB.
Meanwhile, draft a mobile QB and it eases the pressure on the OL, not to mention you could have had him sit behind Eli for a year and made the OL a two year project (Mahomes sat behind Smith and seems to be just fine).
Oline sucks, Dallas much better then folks think. Dak can throw better then people thought. I just don’t understand how people could dismiss this Dallas team given the circumstances.
Dak is great when there is no pass rush. Better team won today. Yes their WR core is weak but our OL is weaker.
I love Eli - but some of the hits he took tonight have to have him still hearing footsteps with the game being over. Not sure at this age and after several seasons of crap OLs he is going to be able to see the game cleanly
*I* flinch now when I watch him get hit . . . I sincerely would love to see him go out w/ a good season, but this is just brutal
OL, QB, pass rush all need a massive rebuild . . .
Yea ...right. Same with last weeks final score. We never had momentum, we were never in control of the game.
Dallas is awful. Marineli just kicked Shurmur’s ass. And he knows how to rattle Eli. Eli hasn’t been good against Dallas since he’s been their DC

Your QB is just as important as the OL when it comes to blitzes.

OLine was a joke tonight - and Giants missed Vernon.
They actually played better against a much better DLine last week.
No. Dallas is dogshit. The Giants are simply that much worse.

Exactly. Jenkins will be quitting very shortly.

Because there was no sentimentality involved in moving on from Kerry Collins.

That last drive was encouraging...by the Optimists.
Shurmur was the right hire...by the McAdoo is Satan crowd...
Barkley was the best pick ever...by the style over substance crowd.
OBJ was still worth the money...by the OBJ makes the best one handed catches crowd...
Am I missing anything?

and chose a path that led to a decade of contention and two championships. I'll never understand why they didn't follow the same blueprint.
Maras tied to Eli. It's almost as if Johnny Boy didn't want a replay of how Simms left.
Man, I think you nailed it and I can’t believe I hadn’t thought about that.

ELI is the common FACTOR of the dumpster fire
Mog Follies, Polly wogs, Folies bergere, etc .... take your pick.
This line is dreadful and nothing on offense will work until it is fixed.
ELI is not good. I LOVE the guy and his two titles. HE IS DONE.

We can't get him the ball. So what's the point?
It's just been mistake after mistake for years.
Probably will have another shot at a QB this year, maybe they should make the right decision this time.
