The game has passed him by...no QBs get a nice clean pocket with the state of NFL offensive lines today. He can't spin out of pressures. This team does not win, except by accident with Eli in there. The game has passed him by...he's too old.
Sorry but it's true.....
Some of you guys are simply on drugs...he’s done.
How is he suddenly getting our run-blocking for our RBs to be better than 14 times for 31 yards (2.2 ypc)?
How is Brady getting our offensive line to block 4-man rushes, or stunts, or blitzes, or well, anything?
By making better decisions with the ball..running game
opens up the pass and vice versa.

how we win this game or look good on offense if Tom Brady were under center tonight for us instead of Eli.

Kinda hard to make better decisions where there are defenders up your ass every play.
Hasnt that been the same exact response for the last 6 years now?
With an entirely different offense, entirely different coaching staff?
They can't even handle simple stunts.
I have to believe this is the worst OL in the league right now.
Perhaps there are some lines that are worse, but they might have a more mobile QB - but not effective thrower - that at least take some of the burden off their OL but in the end suffer from the same lack of offensive production.
Eli Manning can still throw the ball.......he needs time to look thru his progressions and it's simply not there right now.
Defensive players are either on him, collapsing the pocket, or at his feet and he just can't play that way.

I dont disagree, but good qbs make it happen. Eli cant make that happen anymore
I'm not convinced the Giants have the worst line in the league, i'm just not....this is starting to look more and more like Eli is the issue. If he had nice clean pockets on every play, then he's one of the leagues best. Without it, he's one of the leagues worst, and not every QB would be in the same situation. After this year, I say our debt to Eli is paid. This shit has to absolutely stop after this year......
2. Give Josh some time to reply. It's not easy with Darnold's balls bouncing on his chin right now.
Either way they win and we score less than 15 per game
This is a waste of time....
You can see the domino effect if you look closely, or even just fucking look at all.
Such as?
Can someone please show me these plays Eli left on the field?
Watson and Stafford didn't look so bad.
Not really a good comp for Eli.
We have more talent at the skill positions than DET and HOU. A lot more talent.

Don't make me go back and rewatch this horror show, but it's true.
You don't remember Eli throwing the ball 4 feet short at Barkley feet early in the game? With ZERO pressure on him?
Ok assume Eli is done. Assume Giants draft Darnold instead of Barkley at 2. Darnold would be halfway to David Carr status by now, too.
If their big guys kick our big guys’ ass in the run and the pass, NO ONE is succeeding at any meaningful level.

If we’re talking about the same play, there was pressure and Barkley was about to get lit up if the pass was accurate

Shep on a 7 route where he forced it to Odell well short of the first and later had Beckham wide fucking open in the end zone when he checked down. There were others. Papa and Banks were saying it all night on the broadcast.
The fade down the sidelines? It was well covered and there wasn’t even a window to throw the ball.

He also missed barkley who was right in his face on a potential td

Watson lost to Blaine Gabbert and all the best writers were saying how the Houston passing game was an abomination.
But hey, he’s mobile so I guess it’s a pretty 0-2.

Really? You watched the broadcast, right? You didn't see the replays with OBJ one-on-one or breaking free for the end zone or Barkley with two steps on the defender in the endzone?
Come on, I love Eli but you are being disingenuous if you think all the problems are with the OL.
MOST of the problems are with the OL, but some big plays were still there.

I saw OBJ one-on-one with safety help over the top, a lot. Regarding the Barkley play, I assume you mean the 3rd down play near the end zone where Eli is already stepping up in the pocket, and yeah, Barkley had two steps on the LB with a safety sitting in the zone in front of him. It's a tough throw where you're already stepping up, and you've been getting your ass kicked all night.
Or how about on the same drive, we get 1st and goal from the 4 and run sideways and get a holding penalty?
All night, this offense can't run block, and is stuck in 2nd and long, 3rd and long, and can't pass block vs. simple stunts. Could a more mobile quarterback allow them to move the pocket more and do some different stuff? But you're just applying lipstick to the pig at that point.
As I've said a few times, if your big guys can't stop their big guys, you are screwed whether your QB is Eli Manning, Sam Darnold, the re-incarnation of Michael Vick, or anyone.
** attached **
I saw Eli Manning, needed to complete 3 passes, to get a first down....not once, but twice.....and one time he completed 3 passes, but still had to use a qb sneak to get the first down...What does that tell you?
Just like last week, there were plays to be made, and Eli didn't make them.....
33 for 44....awesome....TD came on a busted play....awesome.....
We could have another season over by Halloween?
Why is he toast? Because he can't spin out of free rushers and scramble and throw? He never could do that.
What quarterback can succeed at a meaningful level with no running game and an offensive line that can't pick up a simple stunt? The best QB in the game, Aaron Rodgers, either doesn't make through the season with this OL, or he carries this dried husk of a team to a 6-10 record.

I'm sorry but less than average would be an improvement from what we saw tonight. We're talking a level between absolute debacle and replacement player level.
Hahahaha
Thats what all of the "best writers" say? OK
And "Watson lost to Blaine Gabbert?" Is that it too?
Honestly, WTF does that mean?
When a team losses you say, QB1 lost to QB2? Really?
Especially in this situation with QB2 throwing for 25 yards/qtr. Watson lost to him?
We're all still eating the same shit sandwich.
This made me cry with joy.
God bless you.

Beat writers. Typo.
Watson looked like shit most of the game. I don’t think he’s a bad QB but he’s in a similar situation as the Giants. Bad OL.
Houston had no business losing that game if you look at the skill guys but they did.

Has been for three years. This isn't news for anyone with eyes and a shred of football acumen which isn't many here. We are held hostage by public opinion and John Mara's need to placate the Manning family. It's about money, not winning, not until the old man retires and lets the franchise free of his financial hold on them and their sponsors. It's always about the money.
This made me cry with joy.

Still sounds like a Game of Thrones plot to me. Or, how about the more realistic option?
We're 2 games into a multi-year rebuilding job with four new offensive linemen who a) can't run block and b) couldn't figure out how to block a stunt or a twist if you told them it was coming.
I find that much more realistic that the sinister "John Mara is being held hostage by the Manning family while Cersei Lannister tries to get a hold of an ice dragon", but okay.
My point is...that is horseshit.
I watched that entire game btw (I bet the Texans like a dummy), Watson played well.

If this is the sort of thing that fills you with joy, I’m not sure you are a Giants fan.
I am taking my son to his first NFL game. Paid a pretty penny, took the day of, and the next day off from work and my son and I have been talking about it ever since I purchased the tix back in July. I/We were pumped.
Suddenly, I have lost the excitement I had. I actually feel ripped off by the Giants, like they freakin suckered me.
I mean, I'll go and cheer on Big Blue, and I will be excited to go....but it just doesn't feel as good anymore.....sigh....what a huge disappointment, I feel like that guy in The Crying Game puking in the toilet....FML
The alarming fact is that Giants management has refused to admit this as well as letting the opportunity of a lifetime in this past draft to acquire the next QB of this franchise. Very sad state of affairs. By taking Barkley they have set back any hope of getting back to any relevance at least 3-4 years. Book it.
Some of you guys are simply on drugs...he’s done.
Thats because:
1) Thats all he had time to do. What do you want him to do, wait and take a sack? Then you'd kill him for that.
2) When a blitz comes through untouched, you hit the hot read (which is part of any gameplan).
This is getting ridiculous. Rodgers would have done the same thing.
And Saquon isn’t lighting it up like Elliot, although we all can see how hard he tries. Impossible to function when the defense gets zero pressure on the opposing QB and the Oline can’t function
