Does Curtis Riley suck?

I'm not sure. I thought he stunk tonight, especially early in the game. But the defense was pretty good overall. So he couldn't have been that bad. But whenever I noticed CR he was doing something poorly.

I'm not saying he cost us the game. But Is he any good?

But we kind of already knew that. I get it, there isn't a premium on Safeties. That's why you had accomplished Safeties like Eric Reid, Tre Boston, and Kenny Vaccaro just sitting there in free agency. But Riley had never even started a game in the NFL, let alone at Safety. It was foolish to think he could step in and be effective.

we were depending on Barwin and Martin to do that - wichful thinking. Barwin has a little left in the tank but they need Vernon back and Carter to grow up fast.

why they didn't keep Adams instead?? Adams actuaully looked way better then anything the Giants have at FS. Not saying Adams is the answer but why get rid of him? Really concerning..

It wasn't so much he took a bad angle, he did. It was that he was never ever getting over to Austin. Riley had crept up into the box on the other hash mark. Once Jenkins slipped with Collins blitzing it was a done deal. I don't think Riley is any good but it was actually somewhat impressive he had the range to even get in the picture.

He cannot he better than Andrew Adams. Just doesn�t make sense. The guy runs full speed without ever breaking down. Whiffs terribly on tackles non stop and just soft overall

Since the 1940s, with a few exceptions of the thumper variety.

But overall the D played fairly well vs a coaching clinic / extravaganza put on by the cowboys.

Seems like we feel we can ignore certain aspects league play, trends, in our own O, and so, possibly the only time our D sees this stuff is in real games. Since they practice against our O. which doesn't.
