For the x’s and o’s Guys...

Why did we never once attempt to roll out move the pocket and buy some time for a play to develop when Eli was running for his life? I thought that was something Shurmur was going to bring to this offense more. Not once did I see that tonight. They took pressure up the middle for most of the game.
Not sure as I'd have to rewatch the game

They did much more "move the pocket" stuff last week vs. a better defense.

Wouldn't be totally shocked if Eli got his bell rung early on, either.
Why did they not leave a RB in to pick up blitzers?

As soon as Dallas realized Barkley was not staying in the backfield but constantly swinging out to the flat, they sent a blitzer on every passing down.

The only RB who picked up a blitzer was Stewart, who basically stonewalled the guy.

Part of the reason you’re not seeing the rollouts, is because of the handball Eli rolling out to wear flowers is and Wood call for flowers to lead the way moving the pocket. Dallas also was often with saying safeties off the edge, which makes rolling out more challenging. Other challenge is the fact but when you do rollouts, do you want lemonade options on one side of field. It look like with the exception of OBJ, receivers for not doing a good job of getting separation and getting open.

What personally blew my mind, what’s the Fact that their game plan was not running the ball first to establish play action. When they ran the gal early in the third quarter, the passing game opened up some. Bottom line is we don’t have OIine talent.

They did. They brought in Smith to block on 2 plays and he gave up two sacks.

One of the most basic principles on offense is establishing a run game early. I understand the line is bad. Slow developing runs out of shotgun are still the last type of plays i would call personally. Go under center, call quick hitting run plays. Even if we’re only getting a few yards, it forces the defense to think. As you stated, it seemed like offense started to gain momentum when they ran more plays under center, the linebackers started to cheat up b/c they know Saquon is a problem in the open field.

This has been my issue with the offense for years. Is the mindset to operate out of shotgun b/c the line is so bad? I would still operate under center much more. I was excited after Jacksonville because it seemed like Shurmur got it. Last nights play calling reminded me of Cecil the Lions.

You guys ever read up on Smith’s pro day numbers? Dude is an absolute freak of nature. That doesn’t matter much when you cannot block.
