First off, the OL is not good but it is not entirely their fault. Tons of times last night there were missed blocking assignments on blitzes. That is the QBs job to call out and adjust. A lot of the sacks last night were blitzes and not just physical 4 man rushes.
I’m not putting all the blame on Eli at all. The coaching and line need to play better but theee has been one constant over the years..
hopefully they manage to upgrade C, RG, RT next year.. although i was hoping maybe they upgraded C this season, given that schurmur is a former OC and seemed to have a vision re: halipio. so much for that dream..
The O line looks unsure of what they are doing.
That doesn't even count the two times I saw us in max protect and Lawrence still went through the blocker like a hot knife through butter
Pugh's team can't score and they're about to replace the QB.
Blitzes, particularly slot blitzes are often not on the OL. Collinsworth pointed this out early but then became obsessed with the stunts, and the OL did miss a couple of those.
Everything is compressed at the line because the defense does not respect Eli's ability to extend a play. The same players who are rushing him will tackle the ball carrier if he hands off the ball.
There are too many guys in the other jerseys for the OL to block.
Did you make it to the second line of my post? The Cards' response to the lack of scoring will be to replace their QB.
"Get rid of the OC Killdrive" - didn't fix anything
"Get rid of the HC"- didn't fix anything'
"Get rid of the other HC"- didn't fix anything
"Get rid of the QB"- won't fix anything.
But you guys will light the torches and storm the castle anyway. When the o-line can't stop a simple basic stunt, that's not a qb problem. When the fullback can't pick up a single blitz, that's not a qb problem. When the team has no competent, fast 3rd wideout to make the D pay for 8 men in the box, that's not a qb problem. When the #2 wideout can't outrun his grandmother and can be singled up as a matter of routine, that's not a qb problem. When the pass rushers are on the qb on the count of 2, that's not a qb problem.
When will you idiots learn that the other team gets paid too. Collinsworth was blowing Marinelli last night when all Marinelli did was look at what we have: one fast receiver that they could take away by double or triple team, one possession receiver and a #3 wideout that they could single up on without fear of a big play; a fast running back and a "tight end" who is not a blocker. How to cover the bast running back and pass-catching tight end? Turn them into blockers by blitzing. The run game? With this o-line? Let the Giants try.
Get used to it; you will see this from every opponent until we find a way to make teams pay.

+1, how many times in replay did you see lineman not blocking ANYBODY...too often!
