Quick fixes of the O-line are a thing of the past in the NFL

BigBlueDownTheShore : 9/17/2018 10:59 am
The lack of quality O-lineman available via the draft, has made it so when you find a good one, you pay him and retain his services.

FA, will help you maybe find a missing piece, but most O-lines are homegrown.

The O-line was never going to be a quick fix, but its possible we could turn a corner next off season to an average offensive line.
Other teams have done it recently

Plus, three of the Giants "terrible" OL are starting for other teams and doing just fine.

And Omameh has been performed as poorly as Jerry ever did.

The problem is deeper than just getting new guys.
I'd like to know how

AZ and 49ers fan think of the Pugh and Richburg so far.

There are articles out there praising both Richburg and Jones in their new roles. Didn't see anything on Pugh, but the Cardinals look like shit across the board.
And of all people, Bobby fucking Hart had a very good

game against the Ravens. Of course, the Ravens looked like crap in that game too.
Most olines in the NFL aren't good

The Giants aren't in a unique position by having a shitty oline. This is what the NFL is today. The difference is that other teams don't have a statue in the pocket. By utilizing RPO's, moving the pocket around, misdirection etc it helps mask some of the issues other teams have. Unfortunately with Eli we don't have many of these options. When Eli is well protected he can be great (though most NFL caliber QB's could be). But right now defenses have very little to worry about with our offense and can just pin their ears back and come after him. When we do eventually move on from Eli, it's imperative that we get a QB with some athleticism.
Minnesota lucked out last year,

so obviously there is no reason why the Giants couldn't do it....8 years and counting.....

4 of our terrible OL. Pugh, Richburg, Hart, and Jones.
