I hear this is going to be a weak QB class for the next draft, so are there any viable alternatives to Eli next year? I can see Jameis Winston getting the boot, though I can’t imagine the Giants signing him. Any other QBs out there? Foles?

In terms of FA’s, a couple of former Shurmur guys may be available. Bridgewater is a FA and I believe both Foles and Keenum have outs in their contracts.
Who cares about FA QBs? If Eli is gone next season you get Kyle prepared in the off season. Otherwise what was the point in drafting him? And if we did go that route, I’d say try and poach Fitzpatrick to get us through a season until we can get a QB we like in the 2020 draft if we don’t like anyone in 2019.

I looked this up and did a quick review. Aside from Simms and Manning, the only QB of note drafted by the Giants since pre WWII was Hostetler a career backup with a great playoff run to a Super Bowl. And for the nitpickers, I know that Manning wasn't our draft pick, but a prearranged trade.
Agreed, call Minnesota offer a conditional 6th rounder. Then if the Giants continue to struggle insert Sloter and see if he is a hidden gem. He is already familiar with Shurmurs offense so he shouldn’t take him long to get acclimated.
RE: there is nobody on the list that will amount to anything with our OL Â
He is 29 years old and will be an unrestricted free agent. They should release Eli Manning, who will cost over $20 mil next year. Giants can sign Foles for probably half that price. Eli would be just a 6.2 mil cap hit so they will gain money for free agency to use on the OL.
Foles has proven he can perform on the big stage and under pressure.
Foles had the best season of his career under Pat Shurmur when he threw 27 TDs to 2 INTs in just 10 games.
This will allow the Giants to use the draft to concentrate on the OL instead of a QB.
Foles is still young enough to have 5 years to compete with Barkley & Beckham.

Talking in absolutes like this is ridiculous. Bridgewater will be a FA after the season. He’ll go where the money is.
