Ok, that was a disaster of a week for me.

I lost Mixon, I lost K's in two leagues and I went 0 - 3.

So the question is FAAB.

How big do I go in on Gio Bernard?

I lost McKinnon and Mixon and Gio a FA.

Right now my RB 1 is Adrian Peterson.

I am also considering trading Beckham for a RB1 because I have decent WR depth.

Depends on the player. I see a lot of pts get wasted early because people are trying to find that guy. Either way, I like when guys spend $40 on a 2 week fill in.
well again
YAJ2112 : 9/18/2018 12:02 pm : link
it depends on your situation. If that fill-in buys you 2 wins, than it's worth it. If he's just going to ride your bench, then not so much.

Strongly disagree. FIrst off, 0-2 means nothing. If you throw 40 pts on Gio because you are 0-2, then you just panicked. 0-2 means nothing in FF. I love when guys splurge on pts early because they think they have to.

I don't think there's a right or wrong way
pjcas18 : 9/18/2018 12:45 pm : link
I'd rather be aggressive than the guy who ends the season with a mediocre team but still has his full FA budget.

That's the beauty of the FAAB with free agents, anyone can get any player.....unless you don't have the budget.

Well, I'm glad I splurged my $10 on Kamara in week 2 last season while you saved your $ so you could get Matt Ryan for $50 (outbidding the next bid by $40 mind you) in December.
$10 isn't an overpay.

Probably not Washington but James is a solid add either way. Without targets going to Bell his value increases.
BTW
YAJ2112 : 9/18/2018 1:02 pm : link
I'm sure you considered it an overpay at the time since you only bid $7.
Yep nailed it.
Keith : 9/18/2018 1:04 pm : link
And I'm sure gio will have the same production as kamara last year. bet on it
What happened to Ronald Jones Jr?
pjcas18 : 9/18/2018 1:06 pm : link
Most people had him ranked as one of the top 5 - 7 rookie rb's. After mostly Barkley, Guice, Penny, Michel, etc.

Peyton Barber isn't exactly killing it, does anyone think in the next few weeks Rojo cracks the lineup?

never said he will, nor did I pick up Kamara knowing he would become Kamara. 2 completely different types of moves. Bidding on Gio is buying time until something better comes along. Bidding on Kamara was a speculation on getting something bigger down the road. I bring Kamara up because it shows the kind of move you need to make so you don't have big $ to spend later in the year.

Aside from your pickup of Ryan, the highest bid all season on a player last year was $26 on Lat Murray after Cook went down. Second highest was $25 on Samaje Perine.
Hi
MadPlaid : 9/18/2018 1:16 pm : link
I'm considering adding the Chicago D off waivers. I already have the Ravens. My plan is to play matchups with these two. Would you cut loose Michael Crabtree to pickup the Bears?

My current WR's are Michael Thomas, Corey Davis, Tyler Lockett, Nelson Agholor, Michael Gallup and Crabtee. The only reason I'm considering keeping Gallup over Crabtree is because he is keepable. Although, that one plus in Gallup's favor is diminishing with his lack of targets.

What do you think? Thanks

Cut loose the Ravens, that Chicago D is an every week start.

If you really want to keep both, then I'd say cut Gallup unless you're sure that Gallup is someone you are keeping.
Yes
UConn4523 : 9/18/2018 1:20 pm : link
you’d never play Crabtree (I wouldn’t). Defenses, depending on your scoring, can be huge advantages week to week.
Baltimore has some cupcakes on their schedule
UConn4523 : 9/18/2018 1:20 pm : link
I wouldn’t drop them unless you had to.
Who would you drop on this team
pjcas18 : 9/18/2018 1:32 pm : link
if anyone, to pick up Gio or Keelan Cole:

QB: Stafford, Luck
RB: Barkley, McCaffrey Conner, Collins, Ingram
WR: Hilton, Evans, Landry, M. Williams
TE: Njoku, Cook

I'd like to put in a claim (no FAAB in this league) for Gio or Cole but really don't see who to drop unless I cut bait on Njoku and roll with Cook at TE (lost Delanie Walker).

Or would you roll with this team as is and not bother with Gio or Cole.
Thank you for the feedback
MadPlaid : 9/18/2018 1:33 pm : link
I'm leaning towards cutting Crabtree loose. At present, he is not going to get the start ahead of my other guys. Especially, Davis if the Titan's offense can get its act together.

This exercise is probably moot anyway. I am number 10 out of 12 on the waiver wire list. Someone else in my league will probably snag the Bears before me. But you never know.

Thanks again

that team doesn't need Gio at all. Cole would be a nice get, but I don't see anyone you'd want to cut. I think you need to have both Njoku and Cook until Njoku breaks out finally. I suppose you could dump Cook for Cole, and then see if you can trade for a better TE.
Is it worth hanging onto Cohen?
dep026 : 9/18/2018 1:39 pm : link
I mean he was suppose to thrive in new offensive system. But the next barry sanders is struggling to get traction.
Jesse James
pjcas18 : 9/18/2018 1:39 pm : link
is a FA, would you add him over Cook and Njoku?
I’d rather have Gio than Njoku
UConn4523 : 9/18/2018 1:39 pm : link
this Mixon timetable is already fairly aggressive. Once he returns he has to then prove he can handle a full load. It could linger all season.

I don't think that Mixon timetable is that aggressive. Seen other examples of guys coming back in 2 weeks from that procedure. With his RB depth, he will never need Gio even if Mixon extends out to 4 weeks.
Well, in my 5-player keeper league
allstarjim : 9/18/2018 1:57 pm : link
The Le'Veon Bell owner just asked for offers.

I am a little flummoxed. I have Saquon, Dalvin, Jordan Howard, Joe Mixon, Sony Michel, and Aaron Jones on roster right now. I am going to have to take Jones out of the IR spot soon with nowhere to put him, or just drop him.

I do not want to lose any of the other RBs in favor of Jones.

I am thinking of offering Howard and Jones (the guy is also a Packers fan) for Bell, and crossing fingers. I can also throw in a draft pick, but we'll see what he says first.

I don't trust Bell, though. Although, late season with fresh legs he could carry me to a title.

Right now I'm pretty pissed off with Nagy's use (or lack thereof) of Jordan Howard, particularly how he gets cute down by the goal line (but so far it's working for him, sigh).

I think I'm going to make the offer. On the bad side, if this trade is accepted, I will only have Saquon and Dalvin as playable options at RB, with Michel as the emergency back in a standard scoring league, while Mixon gets healthy and I wait for Bell to report.

Anyone think this trade is a terrible idea?

It’s still aggressive despite other case studies, especially 2 weeks. My point is that he doesn’t need either player but I’d rather my opponent have Njoku than Bernard over the next month.

Sometimes the best moves made in fantasy are those that keep good players away from other teams. Njoku is boom/bust for me until proven otherwise.
Well he rejected and said
allstarjim : 9/18/2018 2:46 pm : link
he wanted Barkley and Jones.

I told him he was high...Bell's value has taken a significant hit so he said he'll consider it more. I doubt we'll get a deal done if that's where he's at.
I have Bell on my team...
TheEvilLurker : 9/18/2018 3:27 pm : link
I'm keeping him for now (RB is my strongest position), but how long do I keep him on the team?

Other RB's are Fournette, Lamar Miller and MarShawn Lynch.

You keep him on the team until he comes back or until you can get a good return for him via trade. Why didn't you handcuff with Conner knowing he was holding out?

That would have been the smart move, but my WR's were pretty weak (picked up Jeffery, and knew he would be out) . I wanted to concentrate on that position on the backend, since I went RB RB with the first two picks.
At this point in time,
Keith : 9/18/2018 4:21 pm : link
its way too risky to trade good players for Bell. Lets say he comes back by week 10. Do you think the Steelers are gonna throw him in and he's gonna be the guy he always was? I highly doubt it. I wouldn't touch bell right now unless he wsa basically given away.

I'm not sure he's even worth holding a roster spot for 7 weeks!
Re: Mixon
Keith : 9/18/2018 4:25 pm : link
What wsa his injury? We know he had arthoscopic surgery and it's a 2-4 week recovery, but I've heard different things about what the injury wsa. Was it a cleanup of his meniscus? If so, I've only seen 1 player ocme back in 2 weeks(Marshall Faulk). Someone told him it was a bone chip. If it was, 2 weeks is possible and more likely. Anyone know?

UConn4523 : 9/18/2018 5:06 pm : link
I have no skin in the game since I don’t have Mixon nor is Bernard available in my main league, I’d just be very weary of the timetable and his workload the week or two after he gets back (possibly longer).
