Did BB make another steal?

Doomster : 9/18/2018 9:05 am
Gordon for a fifth rounder?

We all remember the trade for Moss.....

Can BB and Brady turn this guy around?

He will be playing for a contender....he will have a QB that can throw to him....

Two obstacles:

Does Gordon have his head on straight?

Can he fit into the Patriot way, of running the pattern trees that the Pats use? Have seen a lot of "good" receivers go to the Pats and fail because of this.....
Remember Ocho Cinco in a Pats uniform?

it's more likely that than Randy Moss, but we'll see. Bill also turned around that troubled running back from the Bengals (name alludes me at the moment), so he's had mixed success.
Gordon can't get himself on the field
JonC : 9/18/2018 9:11 am : link
how is it a steal? He's the worst kind of loser.
Why do people forget all of BBs
UConn4523 : 9/18/2018 9:12 am : link
failures? It’s been a long time since Randy Moss. He’s failed a lot since hen it just hasn’t mattered because he’s a great coach with a great QB.

For Josh Gordon’s sake I hope the young man gets help and takes life seriously. But I would t exactly bet on that.
The guy hasn't played in 5 years.

Maybe he suits up for the Pats and turns the clock back, but the odds are against it. It's not a bad gamble for BB to take, but it is still a gamble.
But what if playing for a winner,

and in a different environment, makes a difference?
Of course it can make a difference
UConn4523 : 9/18/2018 9:15 am : link
but he also has to come in on time, learn the playbook, and stay clean. All 3 he hasn’t been able to do on a consistent basis.
Nothing about Gordon

suggests he will deliver. Zero.

hype for Gordon is insane. The dude had one good season like 5 years ago. And the way people talk about him is you'd think he's a 1,000 yard plus receiver year in, year out.

I just hope he gets his life in order. That's more important.
Sooner or later,

Ocho Cinco...

Michael Floyd, Phillip Dorset, Corey Coleman (cut to make room for Gordon), yada yada...

They stockpile draft picks so they can afford pay a premium for due diligence but we've heard this song before.
the hype is because his talent is legit
Greg from LI : 9/18/2018 9:19 am : link
But he has barely played in years, and nothing about his behavior suggests someone who takes his responsibilities to his team seriously. It's not a bad gamble for Belichick to make, but I'd say it has a low probability of success.

+1
Yes, it is a risk,
Doomster : 9/18/2018 9:29 am : link
but at 700K, not a huge risk.....

With the Pats WR situation, he has been given another huge chance....is he ready to take advantage of it? Huge question..

Aside from Gronk, the receiver well for the Pats finally seems to have run dry, notwithstanding BB’s proverbial magic. So for BB, this is probably a low risk gamble for him
It's a great risk for the Pats because there's no chance of contagion
jcn56 : 9/18/2018 9:31 am : link
They basically gambled a 5th round pick on a lotto ticket. If Gordon can get his shit together, he's talented enough, if the long layoff hasn't completely demolished his ability to play football he can be a contributor to a team with SB aspirations. That motivation alone might be enough to get his head on straight.

If not, the Pats lost a 5th rounder. Pretty sure that's not going to set them back. The upside is that even if he's a complete headcase, they have their shit in order and it won't set the program back at all, they'll just cut him and move on.
He does not get
