Diehl but he really was dancing around the subject. Regardless of how many weeks it takes a unit to gel, the fact remains that the Giants FO has missed the boat on the OL for about 6 seasons now, it is pretty damning.
We can't keep using the excuse that it takes awhile to gel or these guys need to communicate or these guys need to grow together. Plenty of other teams are doing just fine. These are grown men. Do your fucking job!
didn't really say...is that this OL has been pretty much soft for a number of seasons now. Whether it be little injuries or poor play or letting the other guy kick your ass, it's just a soft unit, plain and simple. Diehl doesn't want to say the things that O'Hara does, and I understand that as he does work for the team in some respects. But man...what a disaster this has been.
Why doesn’t any other offense look as bad as ours? Â
I watch a fair amount of NFL games and I just don’t see the same order shitty offense and bend then break defense. It seems like the Giants have been a “get right” team for so long now.
for more than a decade what do you expect. Especially the last 5 years with players on there first contract. We have Odell and Collins left and Odell just got paid. At least this past draft is the best in a very long time.
Sure. And both of those offenses looked terrible in their first two games. Same can be said about the Houston Texans. 2 of those teams have mobile QBs as well, which doesn't seem to fix their bad OL issues.

Unfortunately, that’s an indictment of the scheme - at least the blocking scheme.

You think Seahawks fans are having fun? There’s a ton of bad lines in the nfl.
MIKE
Giants known for having “lunch pail guys” but were solid and tough
Versatile guys, unsung heroes, always did there job
Now a disaster - - bad play rips away the heart of your team - - seeing that now
Be honest Dave, that was a nightmare last night
DEIHL
Definitely, watching nightmare and magnitude of where your are at in this season
Recipe of what you are supposed to be doing - - training camp and preseason - - ability to install more in season
Knew Cowboys would come out swinging - - have to weather the storm
If you don’t game can get away from you fast
Anbody knows after Carolina was establish the run - - not just Zeke but Zak RPOs
Blake Bortles sneak gave Cowboys a blueprint
No excuse for not knowing your assignment
Solder “Stunts, blitzes, we didn’t pick up anything” – schematic all night
Not just knowing your assignment - - but being able to communicate
2 of 6 sacks on Shane Smith FB - - as a FB you are a hammer
Eli motions you over to the side to go drill that guy and you just sit back and let him rush around the edge
Just have to be able to do the fundamentals
MIKE
Solder gets 63M, Hernandez #2 pick - - left side has been as bad as right side
DIEHL
Flowers not only one who had a bad week 1
If you are in 3rd down +6 or more and see outside LB looking like blitz knew stunt was coming
Had a call like “BINGO!” so we all knew across the line to expect a game up front
What is going on with thoughts on Houston line that is much better than Dallas!
Have to focus on getting ahead of the chains on first and second down
Barkley did a good job of putting foot in the ground to gain positive yards vs trying to bounce
Need to get screen and mis-direction plays to cause hesitation on backside line and backer
Split second hesitation will loosen up running game
About execution and communication - - believes Shurmur will get this fixed
No excuse for not knowing your assignment or what you are supposed to do on the field
At some point comes down to kicking the a$$ of the guy across from you – any question why they traded him?
Halapio one of the best and most improved players in the pre-season;
MIKE
Surprised Jones got beat out then traded
DIEHL
Jones trade win/win; get money back with tight cap but also got 7th round pick
Sure they were probably shopping that pick for OL help
Greco – versatile – knows this offense from playing for Shurmur – can call all protections
Greco a vested veteran and can call all the protections - - Eli can focus on diagnosing defenses
Comes to technique and fundamentals – this is imperative – averaging 0.8 runs before RB gets contact - - worst in NFL
MIKE
0.8 – that is a joke
Barkley did a great job last night - - was getting hit in the backfield – trying to spin in backfield
DIEHL
Not a single Cowboy who could tackle Barkely one on one and that was evident last night
NO question - -not one time he had a hole
Get SB to 2nd level he will take it to the house
MIKE
Giants not getting defenses to honor their explosiveness because they are getting blown off the line
No QB can handle that type of pressure - - that was an enormous amount of pressure last night
Fans see Brady got to SL and rip his lineman - - Eli won’t do that
DIEHL
Stay true to who you are - - Eli will come up to OL – we need to pick this $h!t up –
Identify blitzes and things - - say to WR and RBs - - let them know he is disappointed

Mind boggling.
Unfortunately, that’s an indictment of the scheme - at least the blocking scheme.
Arizona 4.1 yards per carry
Seattle 3.6 yards per carry
Giants 3.7 yards per carry
That's with Barkley making every first man miss.
No, our OL is considerably worse.
