For those of you who say that there are a lot of of bad OLs, and a lot of teams are going through what the giants are. Heres a couple interesting stats...
1. The Giants RBs are averaging .17 yards before contact. Not 1.7.... .17 - which is by far and away the worst in the NFL.
2. The giants rank 2nd in the NFL in negative plays with 16. 8 runs and 8 passes.
We can debate til the cows come home about the passing game, but when the run game stats are as bad if not worse, we have to think about what the future holds for the OL. This unit maybe worse than Seattles.
It's the 1970s all over again.
2018 Giants OL: "Club 6"
Tweet by Austin Gayle from PFF. I am sure you have to be subscriber to see the rest of the data.
On the taco charlton sack, there were 4 giants to 4 blitzers. Both Nate Soldier and Jonathan Stewart went inside which left Charlton unblocked.
I dont know which one of them made the bad decision based on the game plan.
I did see Saquon out of position for picking up blitzers ALOT.
No, no they are not.
Gettleman has dug himself in on Eli, yes, but he'll eat crow on that easier than he will admit he doesn't know how to build an OL.
Shurmur isn't stupid enough to say anything that will come across as "Hey, I guess the guy you fired to hire me was right after all". But, does he want a mobile QB to run his offense? Yes, yes he does.
As for the stats: everything is related. If the defense knows the QB can't extend a pass play, there will be more defenders stacked at the line. If the ball is handed off, or checked down, they can jump on the ball carrier just as well as rush the passer.
And in come Watt and Clowney

We're picking first in the 2019 NFL Draft.
If we lose this week in Houston, I'd toss that towel immediately and start dwelling on who we select at #1 in the 2019 NFL Draft.
The offensive line is a mess, but their problems from last week are fixable. Need better communication.
The issue is every single team in the league now knows the biggest weakness of the weakest position group on the Giants. As mentioned we're staring down the death row of pass rushers. Because we cannot run the ball (another massive issue) 2nd and 3rd down are obvious pass situations. You want to stop the stunts? Run the ball well. Every team will run stunts on us until we start to get better in both of those areas.
FWIW, Hernandez was far and away the highest graded Giant on offense in week 2 by PFF. They gave him an 81.8 with the next highest being Halapio at 69.3.
Eagles were 24th in the league and won the Superbowl, I would have expected a much higher number for them.

I'm guessing you didn't watch the Cardinals game on Sunday - when Phew had Sam Bradford wishing he was somewhere else -- Bradford got knocked around like a rag doll on Sunday -- I think he was sacked, hurried more than Eli was -- Phew made quite a few stinkies in that one (see what I did there?)
