An O-line that can't block; a front 7 that can't rush the passer, and what do you have?
A 2019 CBS Sports Mock Draft that has the Giants picking first.
We lose in Houston this Sunday, and the first selection is very much in this team's reach.
I only wish they were reaching with a brand new ownership team.
Giants Go QB with the First Selection in the 2019 NFL Draft - (

We only need 1...the right one.
No, but they may take Lock.
And that is what is infuriating. Even in the best case scenarios for this season, Eli is 38 at the end of it.
In 32 years I have never been more worried about the future of the team.
This is no longer a vertical system and Manning is not a west coast QB.
Probably not, since John isn't in the draft.
Ali Marpet - C (Age 26)
AJ Cann - RG (Age 27)
Bobbie Massie - RT (Age 30)

Even Darnold wasn't a Darnold-type prospect in January of this year.
It's so premature to label any of these guys as not top of draft caliber talents. CBS Sports has Finley at #10 overall right now and Lock at #17 on their Big Board. Last year they had Baker Mayfield at 34 and QB#5.
And then there was this:

BPA blowhards yesssssssssss.

for the Oline via FA then the draft.

How do we sign them AND Collins?

If Lock or Finley, etc are considered top 10 picks, it's not going to matter if you take them #1 or #8. FFS we don't even know where we're going to be picking yet.

Interested to see if Grier can climb, but there's no sign of a Darnold-type prospect next year just yet.

No ellipses? That was probably an oversight on my part. (:-)

Lester... trying to generate a little diversion after the first two games. I am more than looking forward to changing my posts after the Giants start winning. I've been a fan for over 50 years and I root for them through thick and thin. But I'm also a realist, and I NO LIKE what I'm seeing at the LOS... both sides of the ball. But here's to a victory down in Houston... GO GIANTS!

Collins is no sure thing unless he keeps his mouth shut and let his play speak for himself. So far, he has been the opposite.
This year's meltdown already had the expectation that next year's QB class was going to be poor built into it. So long as they don't do something crazy (like take the top rated WR) it's hard to imagine people will be that angry.

I apologize, Jon.
And the Giants apparently were not in love with any of the QBs from this draft.
Grier, and for some reason, not many scouts are elevating Kyler Murray or Dwayne Haskins. Those two are big time wildcards. Murray, who is supposed to go right into pro baseball after this season, I wonder if he changes his tune if he's talked about as a top prospect. That guy is like a faster Russell Wilson.
But when all is said and done, I don't think Lock and Herbert are going to be first round picks.

I think it's lack of sample size with Murray and Haskins, at this point, they're green. Really like Herbert but he's a year behind now after the knee. They're green prospects. I'm wary of the one-read passers like Lock. To me, there's no top 10 QB so far.
Same goes for Murray.
Either way, call me crazy, but pending on where they are drafting next year, I'd be most happy with an offensive lineman.
Looks like some choice DL rising to the top so far.
agree
unless he REALLY turns it around- cause right now he is a slightly above average player
Ideally, if someone wanted to move up, I'd absolutely trade down and try and net a 2020 first rounder in the event the NYG need ammo to try and move up to secure a potential franchise QB (Jake Fromm, perhaps).
Still WAY too early to speculate today. There are plenty of games to lose between now and week 17.
The 2017 draft was supposed to stink to, and that produced Mahomes and Watson, who look to be STARS.
I am really interested in somehow landing Tyree Jackson, QB Buffalo, who I am sure will be talked about as a first round pick by next spring. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKxNAyvQEvg

I like kyler Murray but isn’t he like 5’10” 190lbs?
Regardless after years of not investing well in the OL we have to continue to put high draft capital towards the OL.

Murray is 100% playing MLB. A’s drafted him #9. He’s 5’10”. He’s playing baseball.
Well played, Sir! Could the Giants refuse to put in Lauletta for the reason you stated. It's a bitter pill to swallow... but why let a newby get pummeled when we have a 37 year old guy to take the punishment?
You guys laughed.
But it's a consideration. Same logic, would you want to start lauletta, or whomever, behind this line?
And build O around that system.
With all those new picks and free agents to Match it.
Not down on this group though. Too early.
Personally, I would not have a problem with putting Lauletta in this year if the season is mathematically over. You should see what you have, and this line can improve as the season progresses.

I am 100% behind this line of thinking. If we were able to trade back and get a 2020 first round pick + others then we must do that.

Not without getting relief on Eli's contract
I dont think you sign all of them and I dont think Collins is worth a top tier safety contract.
2. LT we can put him at RT until he is ready to take over for Solder at LT.
3.Pass Rushing OLB
4.FS
5.CB
