In a standard league, I grabbed Martavis Bryant a few weeks ago thinking it could produce in Gruden's offense. Now, he is playing on suspension appeal and did not do much the past few weeks.

I have an opportunity to drop him and pickup Calvin Ridley on waivers. I know the kid made one play last weekend but I have not been paying close attention to his situation.

Thoughts?

I dont like Hooper. You have to give Jonnu Smith a chance. Last week their OL was banged up and Gabbert was starting. When things settld down he should be a decent part of that offense. They need another weapon on that offense. I think Davis has more targets than everybody else combined or something like that.

I also like Njoku way more than Hooper as well. Cleveland was thrown a curveball last week. The news on Josh Gordon came out very late. They need more in the pass game and I think Njoku will be a part of that moving forward. Hue Jackson said they need to get Duke Johnson more involved in the pass game but I heard him say that shit all last year with Crowell and it never materialized. So, look for Njoku to be more involved especially in the red zone.

I personally think once Smith really gets acclimated into that offense that he will see a bunch of targets. Njoku will be a better player in terms of red zone targets. But, I would take both over Hooper.

Ekeler might be a sneaky play. Clement probably should be added with Ajayi possibly out and Wentz coming back.

Devonta is yes, he has Royce though.
Oh, duh. My bad although I disagree with those rankings.
robbieballs2003 : 9/19/2018 9:09 am : link
For this week there is no way Freeman can be that high. He had like 12 snaps or something last week.

Ekeler was used a lot in the first game. I don't know about the second game. If the Rams have a weakness it is their run defense. But if this game gets out of hand I can see Ekeler catching a ton of dumpoffs.

Kerryon Johnson is not worth starting until Detroit gives him a bigger workload.

Clement could be the starter this week on one of the best running teams last year.

Morris looks like he is slowly losing out to Breida so Morris may just be TD dependent but there is a decent chance he gets one this week.

Clement (if Ajayi is out)/Ekeler
Morris
Johnson
Freeman

Did I miss someone?
My thoughts
allstarjim : 9/19/2018 9:20 am : link
EricJ - I would also drop Bryant for Ridley.

Bobby Humphrey's Earpad - Brown's Defense is going to be a good one to own this year. I also picked them up, dropped Houston's DEF. And I think they are a great play this week.

On Jonnu Smith - really disconcerting he didn't get a single target. He will rebound, but Luke Stocker is getting a couple of looks also in that offense. I recommended Smith last week after Walker got hurt. But, if you have a shot at Njoku, I'd get him, I like him over Smith the rest of the way as well as Hooper. Hooper is a low-end TE2 in deep leagues. Njoku is a TE2 right now but he has significant upside still, imo, and even more so if Mayfield takes over.

dep026 - I'd pick up Clement. Ajayi is not going to play, Sproles is unlikely to play. Clement is probably their best, most complete back anyway. I also would play Alfred Morris. I have a strong feeling that the Niners are going to want to play some ball control offense against KC at least early, leading to a favorable gameplan for Mr. Morris. I do think Kerryon Johnson is going to take over that backfield very soon, however, but the only way I play him this week is if Blount is out. I would avoid anyone playing LAR DEF.

Better WR to own in a 14 team PPR for Jlukes - Geronimo Allison is the guy to own if you need some production right now from the position. Ridley is the guy if you are looking for a homerun, want the upside, and can afford to wait and stash.

We'll see. There are issues with Houston and the Jets still have a rookie QB who is playing on a short week. I always feel short weeks favor the defense. Garrett is a monster. Cleveland with 7 sacks already, and 3 INTs...they are 5th in sacks in the NFL thus far. And I know it's 2 games, but taking Cleveland this week isn't just about matchup, it's about the rest of the way. I think they are going to be a legit defense.

Have a big of a logjam @ WR in one league.

Starting Adams @ WR1 so that spot is covered.

Between WR2, WR3 and a flex spot I have these guys...

Corey Davis @ JAX
Quincy Enunwa @ CLE
Keelan Cole v TEN
Josh Gordon @ DET
Marquise Goodwin @ KC
Antonio Callaway vs NYJ

I can also just pick two of those and Flex James White.

Leaning away from Davis because of the matchup and QB situation. I think I'm definitely going to use Cole.

I want to use Goodwin but it depends on his leg.

Probably have to wait and see on Gordon's role before staring him.

Enunwa is getting a pretty big target share and appears to be Darnold's guy - so I like him too.

Callaway may be risky - but targets are open there now that Gordon is gone and he's better than Higgins.

Tough call.

That's pretty much where I'm leaning. I hate using TNF players if I can avoid it but Enunwa seems pretty safe right now because Darnold is looking his way so often but I'd rather use Goodwin if I knew he was all systems go.

allstarjim : 9/19/2018 11:01 am : link
arc - Definitely avoid Davis this week. I also avoid Corey Davis against Jax. It doesn't matter if he draws Bouye or Jalen Ramsey, I don't like that matchup at all for Davis. You can't rely on Gordon this week being he just got into the building and if he gets any snaps they are likely to be a low number. I really like Keelan Cole vs Ten. Cole is clearly the #1 for Bortles, and he really showed up against the Patriots and looked like a big-time receiver. I would play him and Enunwa, who is the Jets #1 and getting double digit targets from Darnold. In fact, I think Enunwa is approaching must start territory for most fantasy teams if he gets another good week on Cleveland.

EricJ - I think for your Kittle conundrum...I would slow down and take that week to week. You may lose out on Engram but I think Kittle is a very strong play this week against KC, and I like Kittle's role in the offense, as well as the 49er's overall offensive efficiency, better than Engram and the Giants. I think there is a good chance Kittle finishes a TE1 this year and Engram drops to #11-15 type of range at the position. I definitely love Kittle much more than Engram this week.

I would take Barkley.

Woods is the type of WR who you can flex most weeks but he's also a guy you can usually find a replacement for without too much trouble.

I'm thinking DJ may have a tough year there. The Cards offense is really, really bad. It is definitely as bad as ours.

Between the targets, rushing ability and the fact that he's going to manage to get into the endzone here and there, I would prefer to have Barkley. I think he's a sure-fire RB1 every single time he's out there.

Just a bit wary of DJ this year... even though it wasn't a leg injury, it's not always easy for players to be the same after missing an entire season.
We'll see if he goes for it
allstarjim : 9/19/2018 11:27 am : link
I'm thinking he is going to ask for more. I'm actually considering sending both DJ AND Jarvis Landry for Barkley. But before I do that I'm going to try and send him a 4th rounder in the deal for a 7th rounder in return to try and make it happen.

I know it's a pretty big haul to give up, but I just believe in Barkley long-term a lot more than DJ.
.
arcarsenal : 9/19/2018 11:34 am : link
The fact that our OL sucks so much is actually good for Barkley's fantasy stock.

We are also seeing more and more teams start to use RB's almost entirely as WR's.

Guys like Thompson, Riddick, Duke Johnson, etc. literally don't carry the football at all.

Thompson caught 13 balls on Sunday. Riddick was targeted 12 times, I believe.

CLE hasn't been able to get Duke involved but that's usually how they use him too.

CMC just saw a 15 target game as well.

Barkley is a better runner and built to actually bang between tackles which these guys aren't. But he's going to see similar target shares as well.

Things are a changin'...

I CAN roster both but I really do not have room for two TEs right now due to injury/suspension of guys I need to keep.

QB Stafford
RB Kareem Hunt
RB Yeldon
Flex Chris Thompson
WR Hilton
WR Mike Williams
TE Kittle
Bears
Prater

Bench
Fournette - injured
Baldwin - injured
Ingram - Suspended
Crabtree
Crowder

As I described yesterday, I currently have the Ravens D, and I’d like to add another one so I can play matchups going forward. The Ravens really hurt me last week when they didn’t generate any points.

Who would you cut to pick up the Browns D?

M. Crabtree or M. Gallup

My other WRs are:
N. Agholor
T. Lockett
C. Davis
M. Thomas

The only reason I don’t just cut Gallup is because he is keepable.

M. Crabtree or M. Gallup

My other WRs are:
N. Agholor
T. Lockett
C. Davis
M. Thomas

The only reason I don’t just cut Gallup is because he is keepable.

That is not enough info. What do you mean keepable? What are the rules?

As I suspected, someone higher on the waiver list snatched them up before me. Now I am wondering if I should change my focus to the Browns D? As I described yesterday, I currently have the Ravens D, and I’d like to add another one so I can play matchups going forward. The Ravens really hurt me last week when they didn’t generate any points.

Sorry. I can keep him for 2 more years by using a pick 3 rounds prior to where the player was drafted. I drafted Gallup in the 11th round. Next year to keep him, I sacrifice an 8th round pick and a 5th round pick the following year if I choose to keep him again.
then just drop Gallup
YAJ2112 : 9/19/2018 4:16 pm : link
with that offense, he's not going to be any more than an 8th round pick next year anyway at best.
Agree with Yaj
robbieballs2003 : 9/19/2018 5:20 pm : link
I like Gallup but they probably won't make him that valuable this year so you can do better.
Thanks, guys
MadPlaid : 9/19/2018 5:41 pm : link
As I was typing the details about Gallup, I started to think that too. When I drafted him, I thought he had earned a starting spot. When the season started, I saw I was mistaken. Oh well.

Good luck this weekend

back to PHI.

I thought he was a budding star after his first 2 seasons, but he shit the bed. Not sure why or if he has a future, but thought I'd share it.
Just made this trade in a keeper league
allstarjim : 9/19/2018 8:47 pm : link
I gave up:

Diggs
Jordan Howard
Kelce

For:

Zeke Elliott
Larry Fitz

Oh yeah, it's a keeper league.

Yikes. I do not like that trade for you.

I wish you the best of luck with it though.
Fitz is worthless in a keeper league
UConn4523 : 9/19/2018 8:54 pm : link
I can see him retiring at any moment. Elliott is the best in the deal but you are giving up a top 10 RB, top 3 TE and a high upside top 10-15 WR.

Without knowing your team I have no idea how to assess but at face value I don’t like that trade at all.

I don't care about Fitz as a keeper. I have Saquon, Dalvin, now Zeke, Mixon, Deshaun, Sony Michel, Deshaun Watson, Tate, Golladay...pretty sure I can get 5 guys.

I'm replacing Diggs with Golladay in my regular lineup. Replacing Kelce with Trey Button. Like it better now?

Not really.
Well realistically
allstarjim : 9/19/2018 11:55 pm : link
You don't get Zeke without giving up some good talent.

As much as I like Kelce, Zeke is going to be a more consistent performer, and I'm a believer that Burton is going to be a good performer for me. The guy that it hurts to lose is Diggs, I really believe he's going to have a strong year, but what I gain from going from Howard to Zeke is considerable. I know that some people think that Zeke is going to be a little down this year due to the Cowboys offense not having good weapons in the pass game. I am not of that belief. I believe Zeke is still going to be a top 3 finisher. I'll take my lumps if it doesn't work out but having Zeke and Saquon as keepers together for the next 3 years after this one sets me up very well both this year and the future. I love me some Golladay as well. The Fitz pickup is immaterial to me. But what it does do is open a roster spot for me to take Aaron Jones off my reserve list. If Jones really takes off in that GB backfield I will trade him for another receiver or a TE. I can also make a play for OJ Howard, Jared Cook, or Eric Ebron to supplement the TE position, all of whom are still available as of now on the free agent market. Once I activate Jones, however, it will be very tough to find a roster spot to make a move for one of those guys, so then a 2 for 1 trade such as Jones and Fitz for a guy like a Juju Smith-Schuster for example, would make some sense. There are teams that still are hurting for good RB play so as long as Jones and Fitz cooperate I think it will work out. For now I'm happy with the Tate/Golladay combo even thought they play on the same team.

Again, Diggs and Kelce hurt but it's not everyday you get a chance to get an Ezekiel Elliott on your team, and again, I get him for four years.

Pretty happy with it. I know if Jordan Howard blows up then I clearly lose this trade but the talent gap from Zeke to Howard is considerable. I'm a big Diggs fan, but a good trade has to conceivably help both teams and it in theory is going to hurt to give up the players you are swapping.

There is no way I'm getting Elliott for a ham sandwich.

I'm 0-2 in that league despite having the third highest points in the league. This could put me over the top or it could cost me so we'll just have to wait and see.
Btw Fitz is not
allstarjim : 9/19/2018 11:57 pm : link
Going to play the Rams every week. He is going to rebound and have a good year, and no, Larry Fitzgerald is not going to retire mid-season unless an injury predicates it.

Can't believe I'm asking this but...
kelsto811 : 9/20/2018 12:05 am : link
Ryan Fitzpatrick vs Pittsburgh or Russell W vs. Dallas

And then need 2 from this list (.5 PPR)

Keelan Cole vs. TEN
Peyton Barber vs. PIT
Sterling Shep @ HOU
Chris Carson vs. DAL
Anthony Miller @ ARI
Chris Godwin vs. PIT
Jordan Howard
allstarjim : 9/20/2018 12:07 am : link
Gurley
Zeke
Saquon
Melvin Gordon
Kamara
McCaffrey
Dalvin Cook
Joe Mixon
Fournette
David Johnson (yes, still, it's only been two games)
And LeVeon Bell (when he reports)

To me are all better fantasy RBs (obviously not in that order) than Jordan Howard, IMO, and the problem with Howard is he just doesn't fit that offense very well. I also have Michel waiting in the wings who I am bullish on.

So I don't have Howard as a top 10 RB, even though he may finish in the top 10 if he plays all 16 games because obviously some of these other guys are missing games here and there.

But is Howard going to provide top 10 fppg in the 2nd half of the season? I doubt it.

Keep the faith with Russell. The bloom will be off the rose with Fitzmagic soon enough, I think.

I love Keelan Cole this week and I'd go Godwin as the other guy. You just can't trust any of your other options and Barber is getting close to being droppable if he's not already.
I'm looking at that RB list again realizing I now have 4 of those guys

Zeke, Saquon, Cook, and Mixon. That warms my cockles.

Thanks. Yea I'm really fucked at RB. 12 team leagues are not easy.

See if you can trade Chris Carson and Cole for a bit better RB. Perhaps a Mark Ingram, or even a Kenyan Drake. I don't know the rest of your assets but looking at what you do have I think that's the play. Carson is already starting to lose touches to Penny so it would probably behoove you to make a move right now before it's painfully obvious.

That's great, but unless you can start all 4 every week you are wasting one on your bench. Meanwhile you gave up Diggs and now get to start 2 Lions WRs. And you gave up Kelce who I think is much beter than Burton.

I don't think it was a horrible trade by any means, but in your situation I wouldn't have given up as much as you did. I think you weakened your WR/TE spots to get an upgrade at a position where you were already loaded.
With Ajayi and Julio Jones both sitting out Wednesday practices...
Milton : 9/20/2018 8:48 am : link
I added Cory Clement and Calvin Ridley and dropped Chris Carson and Geronimo Allison. Mistake? Lateral moves?

My other RBs are solid (Gurley, DJ, and Breida) and my receivers aren't bad overall (OBJ, Tate, Golladay, Watkins, and Lockett) so it was basically just a case of exchanging backups for backups.
Ajayi is probably out
dep026 : 9/20/2018 8:55 am : link
so Clement is a good bet to be a good play this week. Jones always takes days off during the week. Good chance he starts.
