Beckham Jr.
Shepard
Engram
Barkley
Hernandez
Solder
So we have two generational talents in Barkley and Beckham. Two well above average receivers, and a good guard. Each are 25 . years or younger. So the window for building a big-time powerhouse offense is not small, probably 4-5 years I think.
Assuming Health - a big assumption - even though I expect us to be like 6-10, 5-11 type team this year.
I can see us exploding at some point in the next 2-3 years if the pieces fall into the right place. Right before the greatest show on turf took off in '99, the Rams were 4-12 in '98. They had Bruce, Az-Hakim, and Orlando Pace; they added Holt and Faulk, a few mid-level offensive lineman and voila, they exploded. Was it because of Warner coming onto the seen or was it Faulk/Hold -- probably both.
We have a better hold in Beckham Jr, and a better Faulk in Barkley. We Don't have a Pace, but Solder if joined by a few other core players can really help our offensive from being amongst the worst to amongst the best in a dime.
I dont' expect us to be great the rest of the year, but we do have some extremely explosive talent and I can't wait to see what we can do with a better o-line play. I think next year could be the year, especially if we primarily focus all of our attention on the o-line.
Hopefully, that will happen soon but I'm not holding my breath.
Are we supposed to give a shit about what Damien Woody thinks?
This big time. I'm a huge Barkley fan but do you realize how good Faulk was? I would put peak Faulk up there with the best to ever play the position and was an all time receiver when split out.
If you had to pick one, is it Shepard or Collins?

A soon to be 38 year old QB in serious decline who was described bluntly by both Damien Woody and Ross Tucker as “Toast”.

No I’d rather listen to what adamg from bbi has to say then a guy who played center and tackle in the nfl for over a decade. Lmao the stupidity of the comments are at an all time high.
If you had to pick one, is it Shepard or Collins?
Neither.
I think you're out of your mind to look for a WR. I'd look to trade Shephard and not sign Collins. We can't block up front which is why we have such an awful offense. Shepahrd is redundant. We're going to try to be more of a running team so you don't need the explosive WR's. You have to overpay for linemen to give Eli time and Barkley space. Our TE can be our 2nd receiver- you can move him to WR if you wish. If you draft OLinemnen instead you still need playmakers on defense that you'll have to pay premium for.
And I agree with SY. I'm not that impressed with Collins. He's not worth huge bucks.
Yes, conventional wisdom on BBI is that Saquon Barkley is a Hall of Famer already. You are actually the first person besides myself to question that idea. Its really been the one carry so far. The other 44 touches he had have went for 3.77 yards per touch.
Give me a break.
With the exception of perhaps Beckham who is statistically on a Hall of Fame pace, the other guys you named for the Giants are just some guys who currently happen to play for the Giants (i.e., not Hall of Fame players).
Finally, and most importantly, it seems that the Rams offensive explosion in 1999 was most due to the fact that they won the lottery that year by finding themselves a quarterback that no one had ever heard of before who happened to be a Hall of Fame player in the prime of his career.
In short, I don't see any meaningful parallels.
