Through a chain of events I dropped Chris Carson in exchange for Phillip Lindsay. Did I come out ahead or behind? Or was it a push? I don't care about this week, I'm thinking long term/trade value. My other RBs are Gurley, DJ, and Breida (so it was more about upside).
p.s.-- WR Callaway is available in my league (12-team PPR) and I think he is going to take off with Mayfield now at QB. The only problem is that I don't really have a spot for him on my roster. Would you drop Calvin Ridley or Sammy Watkins in favor of Callaway?

I'm sure you could have found anothe player to drop.
It was a chain of events that began last week before his 100-yard game.
I get that. Still silly imo. Lindsay is in a timeshare where their HC said he'll go with the hot hand. At best it was a lateral move. If you watched Carson run he is clearly the best back on their roster. Pete Carroll just needed to get his head out of his ass. He verbally blows Carson for over a year and then said he was tired from special teams when that was 100% either an opinion or just a flat out lie.
Luck
Gordon
Hunt
Fournette
Carson
Duke Johnson
Barber
Landry
Baldwin
Mike Williams
Boyd
Kirk
Engram
Njoku
I am happy Mayfield is now the starter. Landry and Njoku should see a bump in production. I am holding out hope that Duke is used more.
I am going to try to flip either Hunt or Fournette for either Barkley or Gurley. Both owners have offered up both guys.
With my extra roster spot I will be picking up either Flacco or Tannehill.

Definitely true, I'm constantly tinkering and I need to just leave well enough alone. I dropped Carson to pick up Clement last week because he was coming off a good week 2 and Ajayi was out with a back injury. But Carson tops 100 yards and Clement shits the bed in favor of Smallwood. Fortunately someone in my league foolishly dropped Lindsay (probably just looked at the box score and didn't realize he'd been ejected) in favor of Alfred Morris (maybe based on Breida's hyperextended knee) and I was able to pick up Lindsay on waivers this morning (I dropped Clement). You sound like my buddy in his baseball league. Every player he picked up sucked and every guy he dropped would go off.
Next time you make a move let us know so we can do the opposite and benefit. Haha.
I hate when that happens.

Also who to start from this ugly list?
A. Jones vs Buffalo
J. Williams vs Buffalo
P. Barber @ Chicago
I give up: Jordan Howard & Calvin Ridley
My other RBs = Gurley, Kerryon Johnson, Chubb, Jordan Wilkins
My other WRs = Evans, Goodwin, Boyd, John Brown, Kirk, Hogan
My thoughts are to do it instantly and sell-high on Ridley, but there is a piece of me that feels like I should give it another week to see if Ridley keeps it going.

That is ugly, and I have the Jones/Williams combo in a league. I am going with Jones since Williams has looked pretty average.

There will be some inconsistency but Sarkazian or whatever his name is is on the hot seat in Atlanta. He better use Ridley a ton if he wants to keep his job.
Howard hasn't been great so I can see why you would want to upgrade there. It is a tough call. You are putting all of your eggs in the Mixon basket when you can just sit back with 2 solid players albiet a weaker back for fantasy.
The problem is that you aren't really deep at WR. You have a number 1 and a bunch of mix and match guys. I really like John Brown and Boyd this year but I would feel better with them as number 3s. I picked up Kirk in the league I posted above. I hope Rosen makes it work but definitely a lot of risk with those WRs.
I just think you might be better off holding on to your guys and diversify a little bit unless there is someone on waivers that you really like to help tilt the scale of the trade.

I love Eli this week but Mayfield has a pretty cake schedule all year long. If you need a win this week I might make the move for Eli otherwise keep Mayfield and see how he performs.

When I say you aren't deep at WR, I mean top heavy. You have a lot of depth. I just don't like Goodwin's value without Jimmy G. That is a big hit imo.
As has been said already, don't drop Ridley or Watkins for Callaway.

I would grab Eli and start him this week.
I guess Jones from that list.

Ridley has some nice match ups coming up - Cincy this week with no Kirkpatrick, then Pit and TB after that. I'd hold onto him and then sell after the TB game.
Howard/Kerryon should be decent plays the next couple of weeks as well, so there's no urgency here for you unless you just love Mixon.
As has been said already, don't drop Ridley or Watkins for Callaway.
Lindsay is also 190 pounds. I don't see him as a workhorse for the Broncos all year. It will be throwing darts at a dart board with their backs imo between Booker and Freeman. I am not saying I don't like Lindsay nor that he shouldn't be rostered. I just like having a stable of RBs and would have liked both him and Carson but, to me, it is Carson easy.

Who is available to pick up? I think it's a steep price but I'm high on Mixon. Howard and Boyd I would do it. But Ridley looks like he could have a tremendous season.
For TE (0.5 PPR) would anyone have a real preference to George Kittle or Trey Burton or is it more of a flip the coin situation?
Lindsay is in a good spot against KC, but I'd start both Bengals vs a banged up ATL D if Allen were to miss. Keep an eye on AJ, he's nursing an injury as well.

Ryan all the way over Eli.
I feel a little safer with Kittle being that Beathard was his college QB. Tampa is terrible vs TEs though and with Anthony Miller out there could be a couple of more targets Burton's way this week. I'd slightly lean Kittle, but don't think you can go wrong either way this week.

I agree with you on Matt Ryan but Kittle over Burton? No way, man. There's a decent chance Beathard is a disaster and it really doesn't matter much he played with Kittle in college...the speed is different in the NFL and if he can't handle it then Kittle and all the SF offensive players are going to suffer. Too big of a risk to stick with Kittle. I am benching and holding. You have to go Burton this week.

Kittle had 21 targets from Beathard last year in the 5 games they played in together, but also only played over 50% of the snaps in one game (with 8 targets). Kittle has been averaging 78% of the snaps this year.
Burton has been averaging 5 targets a game and has a still unproven Trubisky at QB. I trust Mitchell more than CJ, but not by that much. I think this one is pretty close. If you want to go Burton that's fine, but Kittle is closer than you are making it.

I strongly disagree YAJ. It's not just about targets, it's about the quality of those targets. Beathard did not show to be an effective QB last year in the 5 starts and the 6th game in which he got significant playing time. Other than the Giants game, he was horrendous. 2 TDs and 5 INTs in 5 games, never completing more than 60% of his passes except for the Giant game. He was bad. He had a good game against one defense that had given up on the season. I don't like him to effectively move the ball this week against the Chargers at all.
And while Trubisky isn't yet blowing it up, he's at least completing passes at a 69% rate. I know, he hasn't yet shown that he's getting the needed target share, but I believe in Nagy's offense and what it's going to do for Burton. I just don't see how you can trust any weapon of Beathard's this week against San Diego, and that Tampa Defense is ripe for fantasy points.
Trubisky is averaging 197 yards/game in his 3 starts this year. Beathard averaged about 230 in his 6 last season.
The matchup this week is certainly on Burton's side and the Amukamura injury may mean more points in this game than expected.
Hilton, JuJu, Golladay, Allison, Godwin.
I'm leaning JuJu, Golladay and Allison. I hear Cobb has a hamstring injury, thinking even more targets for Geronimo.

Overthinking it. T Y., Golladay, and Juju should be in your lineup. Really every week. And I really don't like the Allison matchup against the Bills from a game script perspective.
Am I crazy to pick up and start Ellison since I lost engram with Latimer out? Not sure I trust goedert as the #2 TE in Philly

Agreed 100%. 0 chance I start Allison over TY
I as well lost Engram, was able to snag Goedert. Ellison and Seals-Jones are available, but I just think its a roll of the dice with any of them. I'm going with Goedert as Wentz's fav. target is the TE, and he played well last week, figure they will keep him involved.
