Cardinals could be looking to move D Bucannon and H. Reddick

Arizona Cardinals having issues with two recent 1st round picks. Buccanon and Reddick both could be gone before the trade deadline

Noteworthy because Bettcher coached both of these guys last year. Reddick could potentially be that speedy ILB that can cover TEs and RBs. Bucannon also played ILB for Bettcher.
This is sort of lazy on my part but...

What picks do we have after trades weve already made?

And speculation is we'll be getting an additional fourth as compensation

7th also because of the Brett Jones trade
Why would we be trading draft picks

It's not only about this year..Reddick is only 24. His best football is presumably ahead of him. And it just so happens that one of our biggest needs is an ILB.
If I remember correctly

Wasn’t Reddick one of the most efficient pass rushers coming out of the draft?

(Looked it up as I was typing)
Yep

Led all 3-4 OLBs (third among all FBS edge players) in pass-rush productivity from the left side (31 total pressures on 127 rushes with eight sacks).

What he does best:

Athleticism he showed at combine pops on film; explosive first step, changes directions in a flash.

Extremely effective on stunts because of his athleticism.
Despite tendency to over-pursue he does a good job of sniffing out plays from the backside when left uncovered.

Can flatten out and turn the corner.

Able to disengage from blockers at line of scrimmage because of his quick feet and willingness to initiate contact; size doesn’t appear to limit him against blocks.

Consistently one of the first men moving at the snap, a sign of excellent instincts and anticipation.

Second among all draft-eligible FBS 3-4 OLBs in run stop percentage despite 10 missed tackles against the run.

Gave up receptions on just eight of 22 throws into his coverage in 2016 for a total of 99 yards allowed with no touchdowns against, one interception and two breakups.

Shows off outstanding top speed when pursuing from the back side.

Per PFF

Giants have fallen off Over the Cap's current chart of projected comp picks.

Geno Smith is no longer listed as a qualifying FA. Based on OTC's previous analysis, I presume this is because he has only played one snap through Week 4.

My own view is that NYG should be looking to accumulate picks, not give them away. Wish I was more confident our GM felt the same.

we want geno - ( New Window )
if we have a couple more drafts like the one we just had

we'll be competitive again.

need to preserve their picks. It would be concerning that the Cards are looking to cut short on Reddick. Wilks must not be a fan.

Bucannon would be intriguing because Bettcher is an outspoken supporter and praised him for taking over Daryl Washington’s spot and thriving as the moneybacker.
I'll keep an eye on Reddick today

but he hasn't made an impression that I can recall. Buchanon is just a safety playing LB. Neither of these guys have been game changers, nor was Mauro, who's back today.

Bummer
I'd give up a pick for a young center, tackle or free safety.

We're ok at linebacker.
Mmmmmm I dunno about that

I think ILB is a need. Maybe it's a scheme thing that I'm not seeing, but it seems to me that Goodson has been largely invisible so far this season.

I agree that we need to be adding picks rather than trading them away, but I also think we'd do well to add proven NFL players even if it means surrendering unknown Day Threes.
I like Reddick
Allen in CNJ : 10/11/2018 5:46 am : link
but Buchanon seems to be a bit of an enigma to me - don't know a lot about him.
