That was not a team that has quit. It's still a team that doesn't know how to win, but there has been a huge turnover of personnel, that can change.
Beckham is emerging as a leader. I don't care how you spin his ESPN thing, his message got through..
Eli, looked like a different guy today, the offensive line pass pro was pretty good.
This doesn't have to be a Super Bowl season to be fun. After last year, I just want to enjoy the games, today I did.
I think they can beat Philly, I think they can get on a roll and win enough games to have meaningful games later in this season.
It's a gut punch lost, but I don't know, something feels alot different that the similar loss to Philly last season.
I'm surprised, but I'm already looking forward to Thursday s game.
division is notnout of reach
i thunk beckham injury ended them, they were beating the chargers and then beckham gets hurt and the air was let out
Still looks and feels like a team that finds ways to lose. A team you can confidently assume will find a way to not come up in close games. A team that will make dumb mistakes at key moments.
We are still bad.
Giants punt return Panther TD was a joke.
The other Panther TD with 10 miss tackles was misrable.
Elis INTs were painful.
Maybe next year....but we are basically playing for drat position.

Gotta disagree a bit there brother. Yes, they made mistakes but also battled and made some really good, clutch plays.
I thought they were on the way to being blown out in the 1st qtr but they hung tough, got their shit together and honestly were the better team and should've won if not for some seriously questionable at best flags/calls.
I didn't feel they found a way to lose but rather fought back from that a couple of times. They showed me some balls today in spite of some shit going against them.
Beckham is undoubtedly this teams leader, he has the respect of every single player on that team. And he backed up his words with a phenomenal performance. As this team continues to grow and gel they will only get better. Especially if the oline holds up. Fuck the refs, onto beating the Eagles Thursday and having the same record as them (if the Vikings hold this lead).

Do you have a 2nd favorite team thats better you can root for? Just playing 👍🏿

My take would be different if we hadn't been so bad for so long. But I need to see more before I feel even remotely "pumped" or encouraged.
We keep finding ways to LOSE. I want to see the Giants find a way to find a way to WIN a game like this when it's there for the taking.
I'm tired of hanging on hopes and improvements or signs.
We keep losing and I don't see any end in sight. It sucks.
We were 3-13 last year. We are 1-4 now. We just keep losing, and losing, and losing...

Still firing shots at me from the balcony, I see... :)
Hope you're well, my friend.
Pumped/excited, that s a bad thing ?
What the hells wrong with you. Stay off my post if you find me so annoying. Your type of posts here is a big reason why there not much traffic these days
Who wants to deal with guys like you
The Giants were bad in Special Teams, were a joke running the ball, can not buy pass pressure on the QB and ultimately failed at the end to get the winning stop. In addition there is a "refs" screwed us narrative now which it looks like the coach is buying in to. This is dangerous to me since it will allow this roster of losing players to scapegoat the loss on the refs when they lost another game. That is what the Giants are good at now, losing.
This could have been a huge win, instead it is a crushing loss and with the short week I think the Giants get steamrolled Thursday Night.I do not want to be a downer so I do hope you are right, but I do not share any enthusiasm with this group. They are 1 - 4 after being 0 -5 last year and the season will likely be meaningless by Halloween.
STFU troll
I think I sense a small glimpse of light, but no margin for error now
👍
👍
hahaha, I know I am being really pessimistic. Thing is Eagles look like on way to an L. If Cowboys drop it tonight and Skin's lose tomorrow night. A win Thursday keeps is interesting in the division. Also, if they do pull it out Thursday that is a great coaching job to get ready on short week after a devastating loss.
Although I have no expectations for a win Thursday, I hope it happens.
Save me the bullshit. Play like this for a month offensively and then we can talk.
But we're 1-4. I have no long term positives. EVERY YEAR we talk about our inability to run the ball and get after the quarterback. When was the last time anyone felt confident we could send 4 linemen after the QB and get there?
Its the same mistakes year after year after year. Every week we look for positives. The next week the team fails to build on what it did well, but new positives pop up. Never ending cycle.
Can we even get excited about young players showing flashes? Landon Collins should have won defensive player of the year in 2016, now we're wondering if the Giants should pay him a big deal. Sorry i'm fucking cranky right now.
We go offsides on a punt?
How many missed tackles were there?
Dropped passes, or turning the wrong way for a long pass?
How many plays do we execute that go for 2 yards or less?
No pass rush.....
Sometimes we don't use timeouts, sometimes we waste them.....
This is a team without leadership, and still does not know how to win....
It usually digs a hole and has to climb out of it at the end of the game, because this team constantly shoots itself in the foot......this has been a constant for this team for years....
How do you determine a losing mindset?

Perhaps his point was other than Eli and DeOssie, just about every player on the roster has known nothing but losing?
👍
Hahahaha "mildly encouraged" 👍 👍
This is a 4-12 to 6-10 team this year, with no plan to make us believe next year will be different.
The OL mess can never be fixed. The D will never improve in its execution of this scheme or look better with its top pass rusher back.
Must. Hate. Everything.
Thursday night should be a great game

they find ways to lose games with mental mistakes and lack the vets with leadership to rally the troops and boost energy and confidence in the locker room.
Thats a lot of hand waving right there. People make mistakes. And sometimes there are focus (or, as you put it, mental) mistakes. Attributing then to a losing mindset is akin to saying their biorhythms or horoscopes are the culprit. They also are not finding ways to lose games which indicates intentional active design to lose. Could they use leadership and motivation? Perhaps. But theres no indication that they lack that, nor is there indication that they are not trying on the field.

Whatever you have to tell yourself. I could probably go back to threads around this time of year for the last 5 out of 6 years and find similar rationalizations.
It will take at least another offseason to add a pass rusher (or Eli's succesor), add talent to the OL, continue to upgrade positions with an ordinary start currently playing, etc.
The officiating was despicable but the Giants could've won the game if they made just a couple fewer silly mistakes. That's what they need to fix next, and if they do it maybe we've got a team that wins 6 games and feels like the arrow's pointing up for 2019.

we drafted a future hall of fame RB to partner an exciting set of skill position players but there's nothing to see here. Hernandez, BJ Hill and Lorenzo Carter looking very promising as rookies means nothing.

Its not definitive but I do think the culture is changing under Shurmur. I don't think he bows to OBJ (even Coughlin couldn't control). I was blase on the season until yesterday's game. The wat it started, I thought the team had quit, which wouldn't have been a surprise.
But man they fought, they showed fire, Barkley seems to always deliver if they put him in the right spot, he will beat his man.
Look Im not expecting playoffs this year and I have no clue what next year's personnel changes will be.
There are 11 games left and I want to see fire from the Giants in all of them. From that will come some wins. And that team will be something we can look forward too, new QB or not.

I think the potential messy situation is Gettleman retiring & the franchise being in limbo again. Whose to say after a 5/6 win season with an older GM with health issues this isnt a possibility? Now you have a GM potentially saddled with a coach like the Mets currently have.
Thats a potential issue no one is talking about. I think Gettleman is component though & the draft 2018 draft looks good thus far from a pure talent perspective.
