I think we are "ok". Our secondary is good and we can shut down teams running games for the most part. A lot was riding on a big year from OV which has really hurt us IMO. I like the addition of Ogletree.
tackling is now joining a lack of pass rush. Our DL is a collection of talented run stuffers, not pass rushers. We need to get more from Barwin, Carter, Mauro, and Martin. We don't seem to be able to get a pass rush unless we blitz from the secondary.
CC and there is no CB depth behind him; Collins is trying to make up for playing two Safety spots; the defense is porous once you make it into the second level; Snacks appears to be only playing one down per set; and there is a lot of over pursuit and failure to wrap up, and the offense can't keep them off the field --- uuum - nope
Is fucking awful. The Giants need to play Carter. He’s still not their mentally, but at least he’ll make an occasional play. Martin does absolutely nothing out there.
We can't get off the field on third down.
The defense has some players but overall, the answer has to be no.
The offense is a bigger issue, IMO.
keep rewinding that tape of Cam running over several players for a first down and McCaffery (not a physical specimen) breaking tackles for 20+ yards.
Talk about embarrassing. I guess the diversion is to blame the officiating for getting owned by the other team physically.
Before today's game, the Giants were..
16th in points allowed.
11th in yards allowed.
3rd in pass TD's allowed.
18th in rush TD's allowed.
The Giants defense has been average. Not good. Not awful.
Not as bad as last year. Not as bad as 2015. It's enough where it's not blowing any chance we have to win a football game.
Kansas City might have the worst defense in football and they haven't lost yet.
There is so much more to it than this. So many components.
