(1) I thought the face mask on Barkley was called right then picked up....I officiate and that was a face mask, he started with his finger on the face mask and it made Barkley head go downward..... (2) Roughing the passer on Wynn was a border line call but in todays standards in NFL you can't breath on a QB. Problem he is a guy like Newton runs lowers his shoulders its okay, but he goes feet first you can't touch him, this is tough on a defender going full speed.. On this play I saw more as a collide than roughing.. (3) back judge Santatore had a bad game, his brother was the white hat who retired and is now working for the networks. On the Thomas call this is why penalties need to have the ability to over rule... Nobody did anything wrong here.... He also threw a flag that was picked up on 3rd down before Carolina's last FG.... Tough game for this crew...
No, I'm sure they'd find a way to make each review take 4 minutes.
Everything should be reviewable.
Teams shouldn't get additional review requests - just make every play reviewable.
Nothing is worse than a terrible call on a non-reviewable play. And I don't think this will fix all of that, but it might have saved us from the type of awful call we saw today on 3rd down late in the game.
