After listening to horrible reviews and a rating in the teens on rotten tomatoes, I wasn't expecting much. Since Venom was my favorite character growing up as kid and a fan of Todd McFarlane's artwork, I was just hoping for a decent showing.
I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised it was a VERY fun film from start to end. Not a great script, or story line with it modifying Venom's origin and not involving Spider-Man. Although Tom Hardy carried this film. He was really a force and did an amazing job as Eddie Brock and voicing Venom.
So for those who were on the fence with the bad reviews or ratings rotten tomatoes, give it a shot. RT movie critic rating was as low at 12% on Friday and now has climbed up to 30%. Although more important, the Audience Score is at 89%, so the fans are really liking it.
