Of what can happen sometimes when you draft for need instead of just taking the BPA. We forced a round 1 pick on an OT in a year that the position was weak. Looking back at the OT's taken in that draft......oof...they probably could have done better taking one of the other OT's if they were determined to go that way, but the results really wouldn't have been all that much better.

Standing after three years with him at LT. I understand not everyone can make it but I have no patience for a guy who displayed zero desire to improve, was uncoachable and had a poor attitude.

In my 57 years of being a Giants fan, I don’t believe another no. 1 pick comes close to him in terms of incompetence as a player but just as bad as a teammate. I still don’t understand how they didn’t come to this conclusion in the summer.

Talk about overdramatic, not even close.
This isn’t even close...

the Giants wasted - I mean destroyed - a 1993 first round pick by using a first round supplemental draft pick on Dave Brown in 1992.

Meh, not even close. Rocky Thompson and there is no substitute. Flowers might be a top 10 because of where he was taken. The Giants have had a lot of very bad picks.

I disagree about Rocky Thompson. Yes, he should have never been chosen no 1 by the Giants. He was drafted to play wide receiver because of his speed. He did run two kick offs back for touchdowns. But he had bricks for hands and was not wide receiver caliber. He was a running back and could have been taken in much later rounds. That was the fault of Wellington Mara who was acting as the GM. Rocky only lasted I believe two years with the Giants.
Nice gif's posted but

they missed the one where he missed THREE separate blocks on one running play, the epitome of incompetence!
Geez guys.

Its not his fault where he was picked. If taken in the 3rd or 4th I doubt there would be this much hostility for the kid.

Its not close? This guy was a top 10 pick at a Premium position that has been our downfall for years. It forced us to overpay Solder. He played over 40 games as shitty as possible.

We have had a lot of shitty picks to choose from in the 90s. But this stench has stunk for 4 years and will for a few more years.

maybe he has a future in karate?

The only thing that is debatable about this guy is what is dumber, the actual pick? Or leaving him at LT after he was clearly terrible?

Now that is a legitimate and difficult debate that I could passionately argue either side of.

That's some Cobra Kai "Sweep the leg" sh*t right there brother,
ok, you asked for it.....
Doomster : 10/10/2018 1:51 pm : link
As for Rocky Thompson, yes the worst pick ever, compounded by the fact that Jack Tatum and Jack Youngblood were taken right after him....

Flowers’ failure had nothing to do with athletic talent ...

It was 100% due to who he is as a human being. He was only interested in collecting his money per his rookie contract. He had zero interest in football or competing. He literally does not give a shit. In any way.
