OT Brian Mihalik will be promoted from the practice squad after Ereck Flowers' situation is resolved this afternoon, per source. Mihalik, who made two starts last season for the Lions, will become the swing tackle behind Nate Solder and Chad Wheeler.
Ole? - ( New Window )
That is actually worse than Ereck Flowers.
I sure hope that is an anomaly...
Ouch!!!
Pretty big, athletic dude. Obviously looks like he needs to add some strength, though.
It's a good thing the Giants brass pass on players based on a few bad looking plays.
I'm sure he's nothing special, but how many backup tackles are?
Rosas?

Rosas?
Si, señor. He hurt his quads, but he's expected to play.
I think the right side of the line, including Omaneh may
need to be replaced, he doesn't excite me either.
IIRC, his deal was only for two years, they can get out
after this year I would think.
The part where we've been missing out is quality production from the cost controlled contracts of first contract players.
They can find a RT in the draft, signed two UFA's
last offseason. Personally I am not excited by Omanheh
at this point, he seems to get pushed around a lot.
Who knows how the Giants will feel about him at the end
of the year?

Understood, it's shellshock from the Solder contract for me. grin
Hopefully, they can find some players. The scouting and self-scouting has been really bad.
Kind of reminds me of Mark Sanchez' getting "butt tackled", by his own lineman (Brandon Moore) remember ?

Pretty sure they had Beatty come in before the season started. Must not have liked what they saw.
Who "forklifted" Moore on top of Sanchez.
This is how I see it as well. The interior line has not shown to be physical enough in the run game and not getting that push. Running room has been hard to come by. Barkley has had to cut outside and create his large gains on his own. Greco and Omameh for the most part aren't getting it done in the run game. This is an extremely important week to be able to run the ball. I'm hoping this is the week they finally get some push. Probably moreso because it will be raining, but it will be tough sledding against this Run D, as well.
You might be right, but I'm not sure. Will have to rewatch the games to see why this is. I'm pretty sure the Giants really struggled at OT early (JAX) and changed schemes to give more help to the OT. I think that has continued, but again, I'm going to have to check.
Right now I know that the interior OL has really struggled to create running lanes, with few exceptions.
