The alternate red uniforms were shelved because the Giants were something like 0-4 or 1-3 in them. Right now, 1-3 is looking a lot better than 1-4, with a likely 1-6. They were, IMO, pretty sharp-looking uniforms. Given the lousy performances of this team since 2011, with the exception of 2016, why not go back to the red alternate? The worst that can happen, whether superstitious or not, is that they loseagain.
The 1980s Giants logo on the dark blue, non-metallic helmets was apparently used so as to not irritate fans in New Jersey, the home state of the team beginning in 1976. I was not a fan of the red piping on the numerals and the red-white-red stripes on the sleeves.
As for winning against the Eagles, that depends on whether Shurmur is interested in moving the ball downfield or using the McAdoo-esque approach of keeping all offensive plays close to the LOS. The game is not long enough and the defense not good enough to win the conservative dinky-funky approach that is as boring to watch as it is ineffective.
against Dallas. The Giants wore white at home in their famous win to put them into the playoffs in '81 against Dallas, and I believe wore them at home through at least '86 against the Cowboys, because of Dallas's "curse of the blue jersey."
I believe in 05 against Dallas at home. I didn't mind them as much as some others here. Losing in those jerseys had more to do with the quality of the team than the type of jerseys they wore.
Yeah wearing our current road jerseys. Those things have been good luck in recent memory. The color rush and any sort of alt jersey at all has been horrible to us in the Eli-era.
Did you guys know that the Pats were technically the "home team" in SB 49 but chose to wear their white road unis because their home jerseys had the stench of SB defeat on them from Eli beating them twice in those jerseys?

Agree. They are a genuine complement to the blue jerseys, and a great parallel to the red-numeral away jerseys.
RE: Bigger question is what are the Eagles wearing.
Yes.
Maybe they won't.
Nah. They'll lose.
We first wore them in Philly 2 years ago on a Thursday night and took it up the ass if I remember correctly.
Get off my lawn!

^This - Why the hell aren't we wearing Blue at home?
We still haven't worn them this year - it'll be Week 7 when we wear them for the first time. One game away from the midway point.
It wound up sort of anomalous because of Carolina wearing white at home and Dallas always wearing white at home - but still.

👍
Agreed.

Indeed. Have the G-men ever beaten the Iggles in their black alternative uniforms?
I don't mean any disrespect Henry, I know he's your friend.
I hate to say I told you so.
LOL. Only a point off!
