Clearly going defense-first tonight. Andujar not in the lineup at all, though he will certainly get an AB at some point I'm sure.
All fucking hands on deck. Forget last night. Doesn't matter what the score was, it's over and done with.
Do or die. Let's go, Yanks.
How exhilirating!
They can play whatever they want in there, they still have to play the Astros, who are going to push their shit in and make all this moot.

actually it was...you saw how barkley has missed some pretty good lanes, but with time should learn how to press his runs and trust the front side....
You're a Fucking loser. Grow up.
trashing Judge, really?
I didn't realize Torres was slow. Jesus he looked like he was running in mud on that roller
I thought that exact same thing....on both ends of your post. First Sevvy last night, then bringing in Lynn with the bases juiced and then CC tonight. CC should have never come out for the 4th.
Also I have to wonder if Gleyber tweaked something and thats why he struggled getting down the line. He was REALLY slow. His bat also took about 4 steps back in the postseason too, but hes a rookie.

You should try doing it some place else.
If enougg of us complain about him, he will be gone. Shoot an email. He brings nothing this site.
I didn't watch game 3 where the Yankees lost 22-1 or whatever it was. True.
I came in the last inning to see how the Yankees were doing and they lost. That's just how relevant my life is. I'm not going to spend my night watching those that cant and follow pathetic players like Vernon.
Your life isnt relevant. That’s obvious.
Anyway. A lot of you guys welcomed me with open arms this year. I did something totally unorthodox. I get it. But Eman, sec, dune, Greg, B, and all of you dudes who acted like I’ve been here all along.. much love.
There’s a family element to the Yankees for me. Important people in my life passed away this year and there’s just a lot of Yankees history for them and me and I realized this should have always been my team. It felt real and right and this is is where I’ll be for better or worse for the rest of my time.
Love you guys. We’ll be back.
Mind numbing. Jackie Bradley can't hit. CC was finished and Boone is looking ahead to who will face Jackie Bradley instead of being worried about CC being finished and leaving him in like a moron.
Boone leaves a lot to be desired. This series was a train wreck as far as how he managed the pitching. Managers may not make a huge difference in the regular season and analytics can basically manage most aspects of the game, but a bad manager will show his deficiencies in the postseason in regards to handling the bullpen.
Even considering where Jackie Bradley was in the order is a fucking joke. Bradley is a scrub offensively.
see you guys on the giants game thread for hopefully less misery and suffering!
We have a 100 win team but Cashman has some work to do to be playing with Houston and Boston. Boston was crushing teams this year while we played closer games against shitty teams.
We are not far off but our plate discipline sucked. Our starting pitching needs some help and hopefully we can keep a strong bullpen together. Our defense was not as good as it needs to be.
I believe in Cashman but I was hoping he would not choose Boone as manager. Boone is here to stay for awhile so hopefully he will improve.
I like our core team and I don't like the 10 year contract, but we do need some help.
Good year and I enjoyed but it still sucks to come up short.

Not trashing him at all. But he did start the little troll war. They are just returning the favor. Would have been nice to back it up. Instead they embarrassed us at home and are celebrating here. Just frustrated that’s all.

and back in a couple days....
I loved every second of watching this team for most of this year and I love where were at going forward. This fucking sucks but we’re set up for the next few years.
Fuck Boston. Lets go, Yanks.
We’ll be back.
Stop apologizing. Your name's not Stanton. And it's not Boone.
Thank God Cashman made a managerial change. You don't want a guy who actually won a ring getting in the way. Much better having Boone fucking it all up.
Go back to broadcasting, Boone.

Are you in middle school? It is a baseball game. One team wins, one team loses. But you don't trash your best player.
This too shall pass bud. Have a drink with the ones that are still around. Hell Im moving out of a city I called home for the last 6 years to do so with mine.
Winning 100 games with all of this is impressive, they just didn’t have the starting pitching !

I’m not trashing him. Just wish he didn’t give them any extra motivation. Many people said it here last night as well. Relax, It’s not a big deal.
He had just a horrendous series. Live and die by analytics and have zero feel for the game, thats a recipe for disaster in the postgame.
Boone gets an F for his managing this series. As bad as it gets.
This is what Cashman wanted. A manager who is basically a robot and can't actually manage a playoff game
He needs some experience on the bench next to him, and probably a new batting coach (although that's the easiest guy to bury at this point).
2019 will be a better year for you. I have been through your situation and it will get better. However, it may not be because of the Yanks/Giants/Knicks/Rangers :)

Not surprised to see the Yanks lose to the Sox in the playoffs with the way 2018 has gone for me. Eagles win super bowl, red sox knock yankees out of playoffs, and the two people I was closest to passed away. I'm ready for the ball to drop in times square right now for 2019

Certainly hope so. I also got stabbed in the back by my now ex while my mom was dying, so I basically lost what i thought was my best friend and girlfriend too while I was losing my mom and already lost my gram. This year just has been so fricking miserable. I'm hopeful 2019 will be better.

As a die hard Rangers fan who went through many, many deep playoff runs with some of the dudes here - sometimes the game thread starters get a lot of praise or take a lot of flak. I know a lot of us are superstitious.
Boone got outmanaged in this series. No doubt. Too reactive when you need to be proactive. Left starters too long. It is what it is.
We’re under the lux tax. Only a couple moves away.
It fucking sucks to lose this series. But we’re going to be here for a while.

Oh please. Do you really think Eovaldi and Porcello pitched really well because they had extra motivation from Judge playing NY NY? You can't be serious about that.

You’re a good dude, Mook. Keep your head up. I know it’s been a tough year. Much love to you and the fam.
Not much available in that dept. Maybe Corbin?
He needs some experience on the bench next to him, and probably a new batting coach (although that's the easiest guy to bury at this point).
I tend to agree on the hitting coach. I'd like to know what he was telling these guys, cause sometimes it seemed like they didn't have any idea at the plate. Oh, the homeruns were nice, but we did leave a lot of runs out there, where a single or double would have had a great impact. JMO
We assembled what is probably one of the top to bottom bullpens ever, but that makes much less a difference in October if you fall behind over and over again.
Same general issues in back to back years: less than stellar starting pitching and just really poor ABs from spots that we needed much more from. Its one thing for rookies like Andujar and Torres to struggle, but McCutchen and Stanton with a total ghost act, including the ultimate rally killing in the 9th tonight.
What's more concerning, as others touched on, is even if we get a starter (Corbin or otherwise), Boone can robotically manage this roster to 90+ wins again - he got 100 fucking wins fresh out of the ESPN Sunday night baseball booth - but what happens next October? If you have the pieces and don't know how to manage them, what changes?
FUCK. Gary just missed.
Angel was fine tonight, CC was not.

I agree with this. If anything AH boned the Sox on balls and strikes not us.

Yeah it was a very tight zone for both sides, the one call to Benintendi was absolutely a ball but that’s about all I can remember. CC has a history with Angel, tonight was not the time to exorcise those demons.
Bats, this is two comsecutive years the middle of the order has had significant portions of a slump during the season. It took GCS 2 and a half months to get going, but I acknowledge he is a slow starter. He still had absolutely no clue on the slider away. Reminded me of Soriano during his last playoffs with us...the other team didnt even have to throw him strikes.
Judge was very good again this yearamd I will leave him alone. But I dont think Thames is the reason he has a fairly good eye and can hit it out at 116 mph+.
Sanchez is his biggest failure followed by Bird. Bird was a very solid postseason bat for us last year and did NOTHING this year. Sanchez not getting fixed all year and having the same approach is a monumental failure at his job. Im surprised he wasnt replaced by August.
Very disappointing result to the season. We need better minds to form the talent on our roster.

CC needed to throw strikes. If he is using Angel as an excuse forlosing this game or series, Im disappointed in him.
We have a ton of good hitters, but I really think we need at least one more contact, tough AB in there somewhere.
Not a power guy. A guy who gets on base at a ~37% clip, can hit .300, and has ~15 HR pop. Too many guys who are HR dependent. This lineup is prone to getting cold and moving in waves.
Aaron Judge is a superstar. Aaron Hicks is an outstanding CF and leadoff man. Stanton is a tremendous power hitter. Torres and Andujar have incredibly bright futures. Luke Voit could be a find.
But I think we’re missing that high average hitter who gets on base, works counts, and makes the pitcher work. Guys like Daniel Murphy, Ben Zobrist, etc.
We also need SP help. But I think it’s more important to figure out what happened to Sevy down the stretch and correct it because we do have an ace. The guy he was pre-ASB was as good as there was in baseball. Corbin is a guy I’d definitely look at.
The Yanks are really set up to contend for a while. It’s just about the smaller scale moves and finding the guys that will put this roster over the top.

Andujar is pure dogshit at 3rd. CC is a contact pitcher who gets a lot of ball hit hard on the ground and they were facing a Red Sox team that hits and runs really well. Meanwhile, Walker got 1 of the team's 5 hits. Sitting him for Walker wasn't the issue.
