"And the #Giants have just ruled out TE Evan Engram (knee). Figure he's back for their next game. LB Olivier Vernon is off the injury report. So he's finally back." Link - ( New Window )
“I’m getting my legs up under me as I go, but it’s tough coming off an ACL-MCL, playing 80-some plays a game,” said Peters. “I’m out there rolling, giving what I got. Little rust on me, but I’m not giving up too much.”
Hopefully has trouble getting out of his stance with Vernon's speed assuming Vernon is close to 100%.
RE: Here are the Philly players out................ Â
they really don't have two safeties on their roster. They have been putting CB Avonte Maddox (who is either a rookie or a second year) to replace McLean/Graham. Engram would have been nice to exploit that, but hopefully we will find other ways to get that job done.
#Eagles ruled out S Corey Graham, DT Haloti Ngata and RB Darren Sproles for tomorrow's game vs the #Giants
No Sproles is BIG. I also prefer having OV back to Engram. I love Engram as a player, but I think our receivers + Barkley give us plenty of weapons.
It's not 2016. Sproles has 11 catches and 20 carries over the last season+.
Feel like Ngata being absent from the middle is a few ticks bigger for our run game and the team overall than Sproles being out. Not bad they'll both miss, though.
About Vernon, like 56 said ... won't be holding my breath. Hopeful, though.
And this is a serious questions... How does OV just disappear from the injury report? He goes from OUT to HEALTHY in a matter of days? What happened to questionable, limited, probably, etc.?
Guys play forever for the Eagles. Peters was a UDFA in 2004, the same year Chris Snee was drafted. Sproles was drafted in 2005, same year as Justin Tuck and Brandon Jacobs. Both of them have lasted much longer than a whole bunch of guys who came later who were excellent players for the Giants - Steve Smith, Hakeem Nicks, Terrell Thomas, Kenny Phillips, Victor Cruz, among others.

It has to do with probabilities of playing.
Last week he was limited in practice but was listed at the end as out, meaning he wasn't expected to play. This week is new, he doesn't have to be on the injury report if he's expecting to play.
They used to have a "probable" status but dropped it a couple years back.
One thing to keep in mind is that they said he was close last week but they decided not to rush it. No surprise then that this week they expect him to play.

He's been dogging it. I doubt it's even an "ankle sprain". Does anyone even have the video of this injury? A lot of Giants players over the years have just been quite lazy, dont really want to play and just want to collect a check, Vernon is one of them.
I would give him a "look who decides to show up" smug greeting [kind of similar how you give it to a guy who hasn't been at the gym for 10 months]
and how exactly is Vernon going to make this team better?
Is this a serious question? The teams best pass rusher returns to a team with arguably the worst pass rush in the NFL and you ask how he is going to make it better? Vernon returning allows Kareem Martin to go to the bench on passing downs.

You're trolling too hard. No one (yourself included) believes that shit.

Don’t get me started. And It’s not just Philly. Meanwhile, seems like the better the player the shorter the career if you’re a ny giant.
Their starting safety is out and the backup is terrible. Mills is one of the worst corners in the leauge. Offensively peters is rusty. Lane Johnson is playing poorly. Listened to eagles podcast and they described their offensive line having major issues in communication(sounds familiar?) their right guard I believe is who the podcasters cited as being “not nfl worthy”. I have a good feeling about this one. We win this have a nice break and take care of business Monday night vs Atlanta and were right back in it.

We need to double Ertz like a WR and shadow Alshon.

Sproles ALWAYS finds a way to kill us. I don't care off he is, he always puts it right in our butts on a key down or two

It's a loser Simo. Not even worth acknowledging.

Yup, much like Jim Chrissie Everett while with the Rams
