I wish our OL is up to the task of running Saquon right up their butts.

I don't know if it's a Pennsylvania thing but I had a bunch of Eagles fans tell me this offseason they were hoping NYG went QB instead of Barkley near the top of the draft.
I screamed Eli you stupid SOB when he threw that second pick then I think one of the analysts said it might have been Shepard's fault. Then Eli brings us back...how many times in 15 years have we had those emotions!
The thing about running the ball is it has to be a mentality, you have to be committed to it and I see the Giants moving too easily away from it. Imagine if those guys up front could just do a stalemate. If Barkley could just get half a second he would go wild. I see the next big move being either Greco or Omameh. Either they improve drastically or I think they will be out of there.
And, again, you mention special teams which I totally agree with and have since 2007 when that SOB Quinn joined this team. I swear we will not be better until that punk is gone. Like Flowers, his presence alone is stinking up the whole team...clean house, fire his ass.

My co-worker Eagle fans pretty much all have voiced to me at one point or another since the draft that they are sorry we drafted their favorite Penn St. player. One jerky came up to me today and said that he roots for Barkley and is glad we are still 1-4 with him doing well.

They should make this a brawl. Come out with 2 TEs, one them an extra OL and block your man until you are certain you hear the whistle, make them blow it again. The Eagle D is going to come out with their ears pinned back, tire them out by leaning on them, lay on them after the run, make them work to get up. Get NASTY, keep running Barkley, 20+ running attempts for him plus 6-7 targets in the passing game.
Watched the Eagles-Vikings highlights and I think the Vikes stole one from Philly. Vikes D rushed 4 and dropped 7 all game, but could not stop Wentz from hitting his receivers. The Eagles front 7 also constantly blitzed and blew past Vikes terrible OL to pressure Cousins, who made some great throws to Thielen and Diggs in coverage. Eagles appear really fast to the ball and pursued sideline to sideline. I did not see them give up many big plays either to Vikes skill players.
I don't think we can reasonably expect Eli to take advantage of the Eagles inexperienced secondary if Eagles DL/LB are bringing blitzes and pressure on every play. Pounding the run game will only work if Giants OL can pick up run blitzes or bring in extra blockers to help the TE seal the edge b/c we have not done that in 5 games when other D stack 8 in the box.
The Giants DL simply needs to get more pressure otherwise Wentz will have all day to find open receivers. I was expecting more exotic blitz packages from the new regime, but feels like they play more zone due to lack of confidence in the DBs.
I expect big time pressure stunts etc and this OL has shown to be inconsistent in pass blocking and unable to open holes for Barkley. Why does that change?. Special teams has been poor. Wentz has been rounding into form after a slow start. Eagles by 2 touchdowns in a game that is not close.

Time to get the monkey off our back , I hate these thursday
night games . Home field has been good for these games no reason we can't win and as always its Philly's D-line that has been tough on us .
Eli last year lit them up but Foles one upped him with 4 TD tosses . I think were gonna stifle there run game and force a few mistakes .
It’s time that homefield become an advantage! Crowd needs to help. Going into Philly is also a nightmare and this team plays like it there. It would be nice to win some home games, especially against the much hated Eagles!

This seems like a great game to throw a lot of quick passes to Barkley. Eagles are going to wnat to pressure Manning and their LBs and secondary are pretty thin right now.

The giants lose the battle of the trenches every week. On Offense they can't run the ball nor pass protect, on D they have the weakest pass rush in the league. So that does not bode well...

We know the NFL is not going to get rid of Thursday night games but why in hell do they refuse to schedule them after teams' bye weeks?! It would make the most sense and cut down on possible injury. Surely the NFL has algorithms that could work such a schedule out. I realize that common sense is NOT the NFL's strong suit but still. The shorter week after a Monday night game I can live with but I really hate the Thursday night games aside from the fact it's a game I'm guaranteed to see since I live outside the Giants' market. Nothing the NFL does should baffle me but this does.

Just spoke to someone who claims to know one a lawyer who works for the Eagles..she says with the rain and likely slippery conditions, Foles is starting, not Wentz.

I've never seen that scenario play out before (sitting a QB due to inclement weather). That really goes to show you they are probably putting him back on the field too soon if they are thinking that way.
If Wentz does play, I'd attack if I'm the Giants. Screw pocket contain. Make him move and put a few smacks on him.
They only have 4 LBs as well. With an UDFA backing up as well.

If the Giants come out flat on Thursday, lay an egg, I don 't think the Head Coach has a long term career with the Giants.
This is by far his biggest challenge in a do or die situation.
