The Giants And Winston Churchill

Marvin Across The sea : 10/11/2018 5:28 pm
What Jordan Rannan called the battle at Carolina is over. I expect that The Battle of Philadelphia is about to begin. Upon this battle depends the survival of the Giants organization. Upon it depends my own pathetic life, and the long continuity of my intuitions and the team through which I aspire. The whole fury and might of the Eagles must very soon be turned on us. The Eagles know, that they must get to Eli Manning, or lose the war. If the O-line can stand up to them, our whole season may be freed, and our QB may succeed going forward, with broad, not solely slant based, game plans. But if we fail. Then the whole team, including El Manning, the only one I really love and care for, may sink into a new 70s like dark age, made more sinister, and perhaps more protracted, by the likes of perverted bbiers.

Let us therefore brace ourselves to our duties, and so bear ourselves, that if Eli Manning leads the Giants for a thousand years, men will still say, 'this was his finest hour.'

Eli haters, I offer a one time amnesty. All criticisms forgotten. Never to be mentioned again. All I ask is for you to get on board tonight, before the streak begins. Cause if they win tonight, they'll be 6-4 after Tampa, and by the time the Eagles come round again, their season will be over. Leaving the following qbs:
Matt Ryan- defense has 99 starters out for the year
Alex Smith twice- solid, but gimme a break
Dak Prescott- blows
Trubisky- trending well, but eh
Mariotta- eh
Luck- Colts will be eliminated
Beatheard- Worst team in football
WInston- Eh

Even if you grant a loss to Atl,
Home PHI- Win- 2-4
at ATL- Loss-2-5
Home WASH win- 3-5
at SF win- 4-5
Home TB win- 5-5

Your still prob tied for first, or at worst a game out with a game in hand to someone. Having the line, new offense scheme, defensive scheme, etc, having now played ten full games together. With a second lease on life. The Giants out of the four division teams have played the hardest schedule, have a brand new o-line, coach, and schemes on both sides of the ball. They, in theory, have the most room to improve as the year goes on. We have to an extent already seen that.

The other divisional opponents have yet to even play eachother once!!!
Dall and Phi still have NO, Car and Jack. Philly still has the Rams also!
Who would have thought at 6-6 down 12 at Dallas with 5 mins to go in 2011 the Giants, after a 4 game losing streak, would win the Super Bowl? Nobody. Thus, we dont know now.

Get on Board! Win tonight, and we got out of our toughest stretch, at worst, a game out of first!

Oh and stop returning kickoffs out of the endzone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What was your previous handle?

Your writing style is familiar. And it is very curious how a new member just jumps right into conversations as if without missing a beat. Some of your replies in another thread, you had stated you predicted the season record so far.

Please don't derail this. I have no handle.

I was responding to someone who predicted the Giants would make 6 games, check the thread and it will bear that out.

I have been following this site for months, know of the Eli critics, and simply am jumping in.
How does a team "make" a game?

Do you mean like make it to the stadium on time?
you're blind...

Eli is no longer a good QB. He has been bad for a long time. Little mobility, poor decision making, inaccurate thrower. I don't mean bottom half poor. I mean bottom fifth poor.

Are you suggesting in your post that Manning is the equal of Ryan and Luck? He surely is not. And I would rather have Dak, Winston Trubisky and many others at this stage of Eli's career.
I'm struggling with the Winston Churchill reference...

Some People Here Are So Incredibly Sensitive...

They think anyone that criticizes the Giants' QB is an "Eli Hater".

Sorry to burst your bubble, but with very few exceptions, no one here "hates" Eli. We appreciate that he played a major role in winning two SB championships. Many of us just think that Eli hasn't played well for a few years and since he'll be 38 at the end of the season we also think that it will be time for Eli and the team to move on.

It was another poster (can't remember which one) who felt we should be classified as "Eli Doubters". That seems far more accurate.

Also, I've been a die-hard Giants fan for over 50 years and been on this site for almost 19 of those years. I don't need amnesty from someone who registered this morning.

We are ALL Giants fans and we all want to see them win.

I agree with you. Poor choice of words on my part. Eli doubters is more accurate.

I believe judging his play in that manner the last two seasons is akin to saying that, say, Connor the RB for PIT, is better than Barkley.

I believe with the line, rb, tes, and wrs, they had the last two years, coupled with a scheme that magnified these deficiencies by running a slant everytime and never helping the line, and zero running game, that it was impossible for any qb to function in.

I think this is reinforced by the fact that not one linemen, or the starting rbs, or Larry donell, or Ben Macadoo, are with the team.

Is Eli the same player as 2011? No. But hes still a top tier qb in the NFL.

Switch Blake Bortles and Eli Manning last year. Just do that thought experiment. WHat do you see?

Eli Manning is not a top tier QB. Please stop with the delusions. Eli Manning was not ever a top tier QB. I consider top tier to be top-5 or top-6. He was a very good QB for about seven or eight years (guesstimating here) who went on two historically great hot streaks during the playoffs with teams that had superior defenses and superior athleticism elsewhere. He's a hall of famer imo, but not because he was a top-6 QB for any prolonged period of time.

And now, he is just a bottom 5 to bottom 8 QB. Does this mean he can't have a good game from time to time or occasionally put up good stats? No, of course he can. But how many times can you watch this dude check down like a robot, miss screens, stand like a statue and pat the ball... He is a poor QB on his last legs.

Yes me too. Realize he animated the spirit of the English; however didn't he rely on Stalin to do his dirty work to beat down Hitler?
