I'm not watching the game anymore. It's making me physically ill.
Good article on Herbert. Breaks down some concerns, but also explains why he could be so special.
“He has all the tools, all the traits,” says one AFC exec. “He’s a bigger [Marcus] Mariota to me. He could use another year in school, another year of maturing. But I could definitely see him going high, just based on talent and traits, if he came out.”
Good article on our potential future QB - (

I don't see it with Drew Lock at all.
This team is clearly one of the worst three in league and I think a good case could be made it is the worst team in the NFL.
The Giants suck and now there will be the destruction of the team with distractions and endless media hounding etc.
Giants may certainly get top overall pick, I think this team may be a lock for a top four pick.
I've got news for you:
This team was the 2nd worst in the NFL last year. The only team that was worse was literally one of the worst teams in NFL history.
That team has improved a lot while this team is at best no better.
This team is the worst in the NFL.
2) Dwayne Haskins Jr. of Ohio State, but I have to say, I thought he looked absolutely AWFUL against Penn State. The stats won't necessarily show it, but I think he only threw one or two good balls. He didn't have a good game by any means and it gave me some pause. I need to see more.
Who else will be bad that needs a QB?
Maybe Oakland and Denver. Tampa? Miami?

You must have been watching a different game with Haskins. “Awful” is a complete exaggeration. He led his team back from a two score efecit in maybe the most difficult road environment in the country. Stop it

1) Justin Herbert, who I consider a better QB prospect than Rosen, Darnold and Allen. I'd also be more comfortable taking him than Baker Mayfield, but Mayfield is the more polished passer, IMO.

Dude, shut up. He didn't do anything well that game. All he did were dump-offs, short passes, screens, and scrambles. It was the epitome of a game-manager game. His 3 TDs were due to his receivers making phenomenal plays after the catch (especially the Victor one).
He's had better games, but that game left a sour taste in my mouth. It didn't show me franchise QB. It showed me an efficient game-manager.
Here are his "top plays" from that game. Care to tell me anything he did special in that game? - ( New Window )
Haha I don’t wanna hear anything from you! And I’m only talking on the field. Who the boys got tomorrow night?
He was thoroughly average. Can you agree on that? He didn't do anything special that made you go, "Wow! THAT guy looks like a franchise QB." Other games, yes. He looked phenomenal against Rutgers (like that's hard) and Tulane. But Penn State is a different beast.
And I don't want to hear that Happy Valley is the hardest place to play in college football. They're Ohio State and Dwayne Haskins Jr. is a top prospect. If Haskins wants to be a top draft pick in 2019, he better be able to thrive in that environment because going to the Line and beating the Eagles won't be any easier.
And despite what our beloved Syracuse legend B says, I am capable of being rational when it comes to OSU. Haskins has done nothing but impress though
2020 is an eternity away. In 2016 the Giants were 11-5 & we all thought McAdoo was a long term coach here.
OSU may have come back down 2 scores in that game, but Haskins didn't impress me for even a second that entire game. The comeback basically consisted of bubble screens. I thought he was at the very best mediocre in that game, the only thing he did well was throw a bubble screen.
Hopefully JH is our guy

Where did I say that? I said he's impressed for most of the season, but the Penn State game did give me pause. Why wouldn't it? It was his toughest game of the season and he didn't play well. Period. Ohio State won the game, but it wasn't because of how he played.
I need to see more. Yes, he's a RS Sophomore, but because of that and because of where we will be picking and the fact that we need a franchise QB, I wan to see him continue to impress like he did against the Rutgers and Tulanes of the world instead of disappoint like he did against Penn State.
That's all.

It was his fifth career start. He’s a damn sophomore. And he came through when it mattered most. My only point is that game shouldnt be held as a mark against him. He’s immensely talented, he’s not a finished product, but he’s shown a lot.

Dude your 10:44 post literally says he looked awful. Which I contended. It’s not a big deal, tonight sucked so I’m not looking to argue, I don’t think he disappointed in that game but I do agree he still has to show more before he’s considered first round caliber. But the tools are there. It’s still very early for him. Herbert is the one to focus on right now

Yes, I said he looked awful IN THAT GAME. I guess in the sense that he didn't do anything to help his team win. For someone who was excited to see him play against a quality opponent like Penn State, I came away disappointed. I didn't say he looked awful all season. He's impressed for most of the season.
Yep. I think Minnesota will be a decent test for Haskins.
Hate that it's only October 12th and I'm excited for next April's draft.
Which we probably will in the coming months, but let's be honest: unless Lauletta absolutely lights it up and really shows something, it shouldn't preclude us from drafting a potentially better QB.
Correct, which is what I argued all last winter. I wasn't convinced that Darnold, Rosen and Allen would be franchise QBs. If I did, I would've been on board with drafting one of them instead of Saquon, who I believed was head-and-shoulders the best prospect in the Draft and the only guy worthy of a pick that high.
