which was essentially a pick 6, had an enormous negative effect on the morale of the team - especially the defense. They never really recovered from it. I think you can mark that point (at the very start of the game) as what was the beginning of the end.
Then that’s really sad. If one bad plays has that effect on a team.... then we are going to suck for years. I think the defense just looks for excuses to hide their ineptness.
The int was a big play. Fall behind 7-0 right out of the box. But agree plenty of time to regroup.
I do agree though that that the defense (and even some players on offense) are playing down to the level of the ineffectiveness they see in Eli. The defense was never really going to be a strong unit this year, particularly the LBs and Secondary so that margin of difference in their play is not wildly off.
saying again, 2017 and 2018 are a colossal waste of time other than picking up draft collateral...

I agree. Then the fumble deep in their own end was the exclamation point even though they recovered it.

The only positive I can see moving forward is this.
We are obviously going to have a top pick this year...and draft a QB.
Let's say we land Justin Herbert (Oregon) and he turns out to be just as good as Baker Mayfield, Josh Rosen, Sam Darnold....
Then you have your QB, all world RB and star WR for the next 10 years...
Yea?
