Kyle Lauletta

tyrik13 : 10/11/2018 11:37 pm
It's time for Eli to go to the bench and let Kyle Lauletta get his shot so we can see if we need to draft Justin Herbert, or in the second round: drew lock or Ryan Findley. We are clearly going to be picking top 2 or 3, and we need a pass rush as well as a QB. I don't see them passing over Oliver or Bosa for Herbert. What do y'all think?
Lauletta

Isn’t a starting caliber QB in the nfl. Noodle arm. We should have kept Webb.
Yeah lets ruin a rookie QB

Behind this O-Line
...
BleedBlue : 10/11/2018 11:39 pm : link
idc if laualetta comes in and throws 3 tds a game, you draft herbert or your top QB and move on.

turn the page.

i doubt you will learn much with him playing behind this joke of an oL
I think he'll be annihilated behind the O-Line
moespree : 10/11/2018 11:40 pm : link
And instead of dumping the ball off for 2 yards like Eli does 20 times, he will run with it for 2 yards 20 times.
Lauretta is not the future
Mike from Ohio : 10/11/2018 11:41 pm : link
Time to lose for Hughes. Or suck for Luck. Or do something that rhymes with Herbert for Herbert.

What's the harm in giving him a chance?
Lol
djm : 10/11/2018 11:42 pm : link
Good luck with that! Dude is a 4th round pick from a small school. Lauletta will be a disaster.

The harm is he is not close to ready and the line stinks. Not to mention by starting a guy who clearly is not ready to play you give the message to the rest of the team to stop playing.
Lauletta the new Webb
HomerJones45 : 10/11/2018 11:44 pm : link
Where is Davis Webb these days by the way?

Bitch all you want but we got nothing behind Manning. Nothing.
.....
Micko : 10/11/2018 11:44 pm : link
Why not? Same argument as last year. Eli is done so see what u have. The season is f-in ova!
Eli
AcidTest : 10/11/2018 11:45 pm : link
could easily be injured by the bye. But I agree that Lauletta needs to play against SF.
Webb is on the Jers’ PS
FranknWeezer : 10/11/2018 11:48 pm : link
If we are tanking, why not grab him and tune him up for one game to be absolutely sure he’s not worth trying to salvage? We’ve invested a lot of time and effort in him, and so has Eli, to just cast him off like we did.

The current starting QB doesn't look ready to play either, and it's clearly impacting the rest of the team's play.
They didn't do this with Webb last year
Knineteen : 10/11/2018 11:50 pm : link
Why the hell would they do this now?!
I actually think there's some chance he could develop
Mike from SI : 10/11/2018 11:53 pm : link
but I'm taking credit for LOLetta if he plays this year and sucks.
Let the tanking begin!
bw in dc : 10/11/2018 11:56 pm : link
Why not start Lauletta?

He can’t be worse than the check-down-clown we have now...
If they believe Herbert or Haskins is a #1 QB, then take him and don't
Tom in NY : 10/11/2018 11:59 pm : link
look back.

With a good young QB, Barkley, and yes OBJ they can then focus on the Oline and defense.
My God!!.,..Let Go on Webb!!!!
Rafflee : 10/12/2018 1:13 am : link
Whatever you think, they decided that He cannot become a Player. If they bring in a practice squad guy, it's gonna be someone who they have NOT Eliminated as a future possibility.

Those are inexpensive Lottery Tickets---and you can never stop buying or chasing them.

This is not only absurd it's a patently ridiculous statement. There is not a QB in the NFL that could function at any high level behind this line
Hopefully

I’m not expecting much from lauletta but need to stop The madness
11 days until the next game
jeff57 : 10/12/2018 6:42 am : link
I’d make the move now. If not, before the bye. Nothing to lose.
Nice that we've buried Lauletta before he even throws a pass
TheMick7 : 10/12/2018 6:50 am : link
in the NFL. Some of you may be right,he may not be NFL caliber but now is the time to take the look. Yes,we've all read/seen that he doesn't have a howitzer for an arm but every other aspect of his play has positive reports. I was a Darnold guy,now I'm a Herbert guy but let's not repeat last years' fiasco by starting someone like Tanney. We have the opportunity to take an extended look at this kid & we might as well start vs the Falcons!
.I'm sitting Eli down this morning and saying that if
AnnapolisMike : 10/12/2018 7:50 am : link
we lose out prior to the bye week. He will be benched in favor of Lauletta. Take the next 2 weeks and make Lauletta the number 2 and get him as ready as he can be. You can't go into another offseason without having had taken an extended look.

Webb was (is) pretty horrible.
If Lauletta is as bad as you all say
bigbluehoya : 10/12/2018 7:54 am : link
We should want him to play ASAP. More losses than if we play Eli, better chances of getting the #1-#2 pick we need to get Herbert.
Lauletta would be able to at least escape
nygiants16 : 10/12/2018 7:56 am : link
Eli is a statue, he can not even step up anymore or side step the rush..

offensive line play is horrible across the nfl

there is zero harm in letting lauletta go out and play, maybe he surprises you and if he plays like dogshit you then drsft a guy..

They did not do it last year because the fans and media lost their minds
I think many people are going to be
dep026 : 10/12/2018 7:59 am : link
Surprised when the next QB has as many issues with the rush as Eli does.

The QB may be able to avoid the first rusher(presumably we touch that guy), the 2nd and 3rd guy would take care of the QB then.

If we get the same exact results from the next QB, and he’s making $4M instead of $20M while the rest of the roles get re-cast, then we’ve moved forward, full stop. The money matters.

There will be protection issues for sure, but to say that the next QB will have as much trouble is absurd. I watched Lauletta take off this preseason and juke a defender right out of his shorts enroute to the end zone. Let me know when Eli does that.

And thats not me making a case for Lauletta. But Eli is one of the most immobile starting QBs in the league and when it comes to avoiding the rush, he is easily going to be more mistake prone than anyone else.
Can we please stop with the David Carr syndrome shit
ron mexico : 10/12/2018 8:08 am : link
Getting practice reps and playing time is how you develop a QB.
He is not going to develop running the scout team. We are not going to ruin him by playing him. That's insane.
He needs to play ASAP
arniefez : 10/12/2018 8:21 am : link
1-15 is the goal now. Any vets with trade value even for mid round draft picks should be made available. Jenkins, Snacks, Collins (I know he's a free agent after the season) etc. Call Oakland see if the fool Gruden will give you two 1st round picks for Beckum and not the Bears picks their picks.

This is the 1970's revisited. Extreme drastic measures are needed to turn this around.
